Happened to be at Tiong Bahru market during dinner time but didn’t know what to eat. Saw Cantonese dishes and decided to give it a try. To be fair, we didn’t order a lot as we had other food items. Taste: As a Cantonese myself, I would expect more depth in its taste but it wasn’t the case. I think the chef is playing safe. Price: Quite reasonable Service: The auntie who took down my order was friendly and I overheard her recommending a customer on what’s best so that they can have a wholesome meal.

Hor fun has a good degree of wok Hei and tasted balanced. Fried rice has wok Hei too. The sweet and sour pork rice was tasty too. Ee Mee is different from other xi char places as they use a square shaped ee Mee(crosswise) compared to the common rounded ee Mee. Long queues at dinner times towards 7pm, especially for takeaway. The owners are polite and friendly when taking your orders. Closed on Wednesday as of last visit.

Taste okay but ridiculously expensive. $6 for 6 pcs of small little 姜葱鱼片。not worth the price

Menu show 6 pcs and price is 16 bucks When ordered, auntie changed to 18 bucks. Saying the prawns are bigger today. So add 2 dollars. I said OK. Then order came out, only 4 prawns. Auntie just Hehe and smiled. Small and expensive, dun patronise unless u want Cantonese fine dining.

Really like the homecook, basic (non fancy) cooking. Healthy with less salt and seasoning, dishes are cooked using the flavours from ingredients. Recommend cheese pork chop and horfun. Went back again for same dishes.

You know, where there is a queue in otherwise quiet food court, it could be worth queuing. Had to wait half an hour but definitely worth it! Excellent ginger beef! Very tasty. Kai lan was nice as a side dish.
