One of the bak kut teh in Singapore with herbal (dark-colored) soup. The soup itself is very tasty and the herbal taste is quite strong, however, unfortunately, no top-up of soup is allowed. The bak kut itself is tender, although a very little bit dry. But, overall, for a $6 bak kut teh, it is really-really good!

Paid $5.50 for a bowl of pork rib soup and rice. Very enjoyable to have this on a rainy day. The soup is tasty with strong herbal taste. The pork ribs were either tender or soft. Service was fast as there was no queue even at lunchtime.

$:Below S$10. One of my favorite Malaysia Bak Kut Teh. Not too herbal and just nice taste for me. I recommend to try claypot soup with noodle. Saltiness of noodle and this soup is very good matching.

I have to be honest, I came for another Michelin but it was closed so I picked this one just to try out it’s flavor( I know this is also on Michelin guide), for 5.5, I think this set is decent, and the flavor is great, I like the medicinal smell of the soup, but again, this does not give me the wow feeling, come and try yourself

Was expecting a strong dang gui smell but it was surprisingly light and enhanced the overall flavour of the soup. Ribs had lots of meat and overall taste was nice. Would come back for more!

Bak Kut Teh (SGD $9.50) @ Leon Kee Claypot Pork Rib Soup. . This version in the Alexandra Village Food Centre is done Chinese Hokkien style, incorporating dark soy sauce, dang gui / angelica root, and other Chinese herbs. . The soup isn't too intense, nicely full-bodied with herbal sweet savoury salty flavour that tends to have more distinct sweetness. . The pork ribs are meaty and chunky with a slide-off-the-bone texture, but is also slightly more firm than elsewhere, having a good chew. . The pickled salted mustard greens are warm and soft with bold vegetal salty sweet flavour, while the braised peanuts are tender with salty savoury nutty flavour. Great when paired with the fluffy white rice, which holds mild grainy sweet notes.
