β β β β β Itβs a good place if you can afford it. You will need to drop $180 just to open the door with set menu so be prepared. Once you are in, you will have a very authentic Japanese experience with chef Tomo who will take great care of you and wonβt leave anything to chance. You will get explanation of seasonal delicacies and why they are prepared in such a way. Iβm not a huge fan of Japanese beef so dropping another $150 or so for beef donβt go down well with me but if you are fan, you will love it. I donβt think he keeps anything below grade A so youβre in good hands. Sake selection is top grade, truly. If you need wine with your meal, you can go as high as $30k ?per bottle and donβt forget to share with Tomo, He deserves a glass. Enjoy the masterpiece you will be part of.

β β β β β Japanese Omakase dinner with Australia Wagyu Tomahawk. Chef Maetomo is really nice & friendly. Very tasty dishes with nice ambience & great service. However, 8 pax with 2 Tomahawk steaks is too much. One is just nice. Overall is a very enjoyable dining experience.

β β β β β We had an incredible dinner at Maetomo last night. (Dec 2020) From start to finish the experience was top notch. The chef in particular was very engaging and shared his passion and knowledgeable for Japanese cuisine during each course. The tomahawk steak was obviously the star of the evening. It was prepared to perfection and served with salt and mustard which brought out the flavor even more. It was hands down the best tomahawk Iβve ever had. Great place to entertain especially once things open up a bit more. Hope to be back someday!

β β β β β Ordered sushi set $250++. It was pretty good from start to finish led by chef Felix who was friendly and chatty throughout the meal. Thumbs up.

β β β β β Literally one of the best Japanese restaurant in town. The restaurant is very subtle and mature. Amazing selection of sushi. Donβt forget to add the Wagyu tomahawk steak. Literally the star of the night!

β β β β β Fresh and good ingredients prepared skilfully and perfectly. Taste wise, everything was on point and all dishes were delicious, definitely one of the top kaiseki in Singapore. Both chefs here are friendly and nice.
However the suited lady who was working at the main door was not very polite nor friendly, and also she and the other female waitress should be more attentive as I found my hot tea to be cold/empty many times which is not the standard for Japanese fine dining. (They usually replace it once itβs a little cold or empty). They were just chatting at a corner most of the time.
