Menya Kanae Hokkaido Ramen Izakaya

Food is yummy esp the crab meat maze men (dry nooodles ramen, the umami flavor iz sedap!!!) and spicy soup chashu ramen is good as well. Topped w $5 Biru perfect for a rainy day ?

We tried the Sapporo Ebi Chashu & the Tokusei Hokkaido Tonkotsu. We preferred the former because we felt the soup had more depth. All the ingredients like the Chashu, bamboo shoots, ajitama were all great! Chashu was tender and fatty ? Their homemade Gyoza was great too! Friendly staff, nice ambience!

Our first visit here and love it here. I ordered the Tori Oyakodon and Homemade Gyoza, and loved the Onsen egg. Also ordered Sapporo Ebi Chashu Ajitama, which I thought was a bit spicy, but wifey loved it. Staff is friendly and gave good service. Will certainly come back again.

Welcomed warmly into the store. Was shared recommendations on what was popular and also why there was two chicken karaage. We tried both, one was called Johnny's chicken that won many medals and also their stores homemade karaage and there is very differentiating tastes and appearances. Johnny chicken was very mild in taste, lightly salted and crispy light airy batter, juicy meat. Their karaage looks more fierce, tastes more powerful and very juicy. Husband ordered the hokkaido ramen with the butter and the noodles is springy and the tonkatsu soup reminded him of the Ramen Alley in hokkaido. I ordered their dry kani ramen and they really use crab meat. Their vinegar is not very sour or heavy and the overall taste of my dry ramen was very crabby and balanced. We also got their gyoza which is like xlb but Japanese cousin. Very balanced in taste with thin skin. We also got their fried tamagoyaki, which was deliciously sweet and juicy. Very balanced and filling meal. Will visit again when we're nearby!

Had dinner on 1 May. We tried the Hokkaido Tonkotsu Ramen and Ashahikawa Tonkutsu Ramen. Their taste is more authentic than most chain ramen stall. Reasonable quality and price for the food. Worth a try if in the vicinity.

Awesome food and service. My favourite was the Kani Crab Maze-Men. The crab pieces were fried to perfection and mixed well with the prawn broth. Added some vinegar which enhanced the flavour much more. Also tried the Tokusei Sapporo Ebi Ramen. The prawn broth was light yet flavourful. Loved the slight touch of mashed garlic. The Tori Kaarage was awesome! Juicy yet crispy and it was huge. Totally worth for $5. Added Sapporo draft beer which made the meal perfect :)

Awesome service and good food. We got two ramens, one with their signature miso base and the other with a spicy ebi base. Both soups were really flavourful and I ate every last bit. I was there was more! The charsiew and prawns were sadly a little overcooked and tough for my liking. We were also introduced to their izakaya menu and their specialty karaage. It was one of my favourites; juicy yet crisp even when cold. However, my absolute favourite thing was the cabbage and miso paste, which I had to try since we were told that the miso was specially flown in. It was so good that think I could have gladly had that as dinner.

One of the more unique places in Novena for ramen and other Japanese items. The prawn-based broth for the ramen is pretty good. The karaage is really nicely done, large chunks of chicken that is fried to perfection. The gyoza also stands out from those that are found in most typical ramen places.
