Finally had the opportunity to try out their soy sauce chicken for take away, don't be deceived by it's looks, it was really tender, saucy and delicious! Definitely worth every penny! Thumbs up to the chef and crew at Nanyang Chicken! Don't forget to get some of their sauces at nanyangsauce.com or their retail boutiques islandwide!

Small eatery place with limited seats. Shop sell home made soya sauce, chili paste but do serve soya chicken noodle . The meat is tender and tasty. The noodle is springy and the sauce is just nice with enough sweet and saltiness. Serving in a very nice bowl and soup served with small cup than bowl. The coffee not too bad!

Noodles is mixed with vinegar and sesame oil. Soya sauce chicken is tender and with high quality soya sauce. The owner gave me three types of chili sauce, one tased like XO sauce with dry scallop, this is the best mixed with noodle. The second one is samba chili and chicken rice chili. They are not very spicy with a slight sweet taste. The chicken soup is great in a nice glass cup! The only thing which can enhance the whole experience is that, I hope the noodles, soup can be heat up even more ? This is personal preference to have hot food. The noodle cost SGD12.5. The portion is not huge though. Will recommend to people to try for the taste! Support local taste!

Had a wonderful lunch at Nanyang chicken. The meat was tender and there are 3 choices of chilli to choose from. The eatery served complimentary soup which is refillable. I loved the soup so much that I had 3 servings. The service staff took the effort to explain what they do and the sauce making process. I recommend that you try the food if you are in the area.

Nanyang Chicken @ South Bridge Road. Inconsistent texture of stewed mushrooms - some are soft (overnight), some are undercook (newly added); noodles still have a strong β€œkee” taste, sesame oil is not fragrant (below avg quality) and after taste is not good - the sesame oil spoils the soy sauce that’s used for the noodles. Saving grace is the chili - sambal and chicken rice chili is really good. Chicken is very tender however lack the flavors. Marinates is only in the skin and not in the meat. So the meat is bland. For $12.80 a plate, I will give a miss for good. There are better options in Singapore. Unfortunately, my hungry hub still finish it up and complaining about the bad after taste coupled with the queasy feeling. Overhyped and purely marketing. IMHO.

Could not had nit pick too much . Everything here is done right except the chicken might be a little salty for some . Nice little hole in the wall cafe with a rich history . The noodles and chicken is good enough to rival the famous soya chicken noodle just two street away at upper cross street. Try the sauces it does not disappoint. The nonya sauce has a little hint of lemongrass . Chicken rice chilli is my favourite as it is unique in its own way . Sambal prawn sauce I do not prefer as it has a hint of sourness , nevertheless old school . Coffee is ok too, nanyang style . The little broth they give you is really good as a palette cleanser. Strictly speaking it's a four and a half star for me , however the story behind this family run business complete the chart .

So tender chickens with fantastic source. Dried mushroom sautΓ©ed by garlic and butter ? which was also delicious. I just felt that price was a little bit high but I understood then I complete all of dishes. I couldn’t knew what kind of soup which they served before main meal so I must try again. You can have a cozy time with Friendly staff. Anyway It is really interesting in sources.

I was looking forward to my first visit and was disappointed to find out that they have changed the menu, which consisted of only chicken wings and herbal teas. It is weird that an establishment with such a long history have lost their original emphasis on soya sauce themed food, which have now been replaced by the likes of curry chickens and salt baked chickens. The special set lunch costs $6.80, which is the same as the combined price of the ala carte items ($5 for combo set and $1.80 for drink). It is pity that they have resorted to fake advertising. I gave the set lunch a try anyway and found that the soya sauce chicken wings were really juicy and tasty. However, the combo set meal was, sadly, mediocre as a whole (as you can see from the measly amount of vegetables and sauce).
