The best hairdressers in the east! Ann and Serene run a tight ship at Nexwave, and I've been going to Ann for more than 20 years! Ann and Serene used to be at Two Step, and the two best hairdressers there decided to set up their own place, which is even better than what I've experienced before. Strongly recommended, especially if you're in the Katong area!

UPDATE: Not sure why price kept increasing to $20 and then $30. So downgraded to two stars. Just been there today. I walked past weekend and saw a queue so decided since I live nearby to drop by weekdays instead. I forgot to ask the name but the lady who was there was very friendly and wash cut my hair in exactly what I want and better than I expected. Maybe is Ann. I dunno. But much better experience than my usual QB cut. Sorry not to compare but I usually just go QB but this is so much nearer and better.

One of the best finds in the east! They do a killer hair wash and their hair cutting is SO good and comes with a blow dry! Very friendly and nice staff. Definitely will be a regular here. Highly recommend! Points to note: they only accept cash / PayNow / PayLah. They are closed on Tuesdays.

Ann and her sister were originally part of Two-Step Salon's founding team that's located on Level 1 of Roxy Square, but they have since branched off into Nexwave Hair Studio on Level 2. I've had my hair cut by Ann for years, and she's great. Besides being flexible enough to cut my hair in different styles that's evolved over the years, Ann's also super friendly and that helps me leave her hair salon happier than when I arrived. Ann's also really able to read the room, so at times when I just want to take a nap during the haircut, she's a silent machine snipping away. I've sensitive scalp with pimples that show up from time to time, and Ann notices these without my input, and is naturally careful with the shaver. Ann's also hired a new hair stylist (Lyon) to help cope with demand, but what he's really really really good at is washing your hair. I've never had my hair washed and head massaged like this before. The care that he puts into each wash is unbelievable - besides the typical wash + shampoo #1 + shampoo #2 + conditioning, he goes beyond to gently dry every nook and cranny (including your ears), and I feel really well taken care of. It's so good that I'd come here just for the hair wash and massage if I had the time. My wife now requests to come with me for my haircuts so she can get her head massaged as well. No questions asked - there's no other hair salon I'd rather visit!
