NTUC Foodfare

The taiwanese teppanyaki at NTUC Foodfare entrance serves nice teppanyaki with reasonable price. They have wide range of meal from S$11 and above. The sauce is black pepper sauce and please inform the chef whether you would like chilli or without. Their broccoli and bean sprout actually really nicely cook. But usually diners keep these as left over. I would suggest to inform the staff if you don’t want the vegetable or if you would like smaller portion.

Visited at 3pm on 13 May 2022. Very poor attitude from the auntie serving the customers and tending the cashier. Super slow in taking the order for the drinks even though the other auntie making the drinks was quick in making them. The queue was super long and I took a video (but had to screenshot the video because I didn't realize can't post video review). About 15 people in the queue on a weekday non-peak hour afternoon. I ordered kaya toast set with coffee and another kopi gao and when they were served, she didn't mention which is the kopi gao. I asked which is the kopi gao and she said she doesn't know with a bit of "guan lan" attitude. About 5mins after I sat down (at a table neat the drink stall), another lady took over the position at the cashier and the queue quickly disappeared. Such a horrible experience with the auntie OMG!! And I don't usually complain about aunties because they remind me of my mum but this one really cannot make it ?‍♂️

This is a newly opened hidden gem in the foodcourt! Hb ordered beef bowl out of curiosity to try new stuff, found the food was superb! ?? the beef was perfectly cooked, super tender yet aromatic, same with the onsen egg, perfectly prepared and melt in the rice… I was very surprised with this high standard of skills, wouldn’t be surprised if we eat this in very high end restaurant but here? In ntuc foodcourt, it costs us only $11.50! Hb returned to the same stall for bird bowl, the value meal which cost only $5.80, same we were both pleased by the high standard of food…the chicken didn’t look charred but to our surprise the skin was actually crispy! Hence the meat inside was still soft and tender. The added truffle egg was still satisfying…generous amount of truffle hence the aromatic smell! Must try! Even though the price is a bit on the higher side compare to other stalls, but definitely worth the penny if u were looking for an affordable treat for yourself! ( advertise for them so they can stay in the foodcourt!?)

Tried the Katong laksa, found out the taste is just average, but not to expect much since it's in a food court. The sign board advertised as the original Katong laksa. Somehow, I find the "mmmph" missing compared to the Queensway Shopping Center.

Grilled chicken steak at the Western Cuisine stall (Western Cowboy). Served with a generous serving of salad, corn and mash potato, the chicken is juicy and soft. At $7.90, it’s good value.

I tried the Bedok BCM a new tenant this week, the handmade dumplings $6 a bowl wasn’t really appetizing! Ample seats available food court was really crowded on a weeknight.

Went to Foodfare food court at AMK for late lunch. Prices there are pretty steep for a neighborhood food court. Ordered original beef noodles for $5.20 (NTUC Member discount). What I got was 6 small thin pieces of beef ?. Definitely not worth it. The first picture shows food before consumption. First and last time I am coming to this stall. After eating : The noodles was quite meh. Beef was really bland. I am still hungry.

Located at level 3 of AMK hub. Food court operated by Foodfare. Spacious and clean. Ample seating spaces. Wide variety of food. Sad to say, covid took a toil on the food court. So some of the stalls were closed. Good place to have a decent meal.
