One of the hidden gems here! The seafood soup is simply superb and have a strong Guo Wei. The ingredients are fresh too! For me, this is one of the very best stalls here! Must try! PS: Sorry the pic of the soup is taken halfway as I forgot to take pic first

Uncle manning the stall is rude and has a foul temper. Like what the other reviewers have said- soup quantity is pathetic you’re better off patronising other fish soup stalls @ OAR.

Tried this seafood soup stall that always command a long queue during lunch hours. Previously this stall was occupied by another very popular Yan kee seafood soup. I was lucky that there wasn’t any queue when I was there. The basic seafood soup comes in 3 sizes, SGD$6,8,10. They also offer seafood soup with premium ingredient like crayfish. Soup was too salty for my liking to be honest, prawns were fresh, and the meatball was flavorful. For a bowl of $6 seafood soup, I would have though that they will be served better quality fish instead of those frozen dory fish. Overall, its not bad but I think its worth queuing.

First time for me and ordered the $6 seafood soup. Waited about 15min but worth it. Uncle remembered my queue even though I left to buy coffee. The broth is the seller. Prawns were fresh. Thumbs up for this stall.

I was surprised to find such bad ratings and reviews for this stall. The good: the soup is delicious and umami. The prawns are always fresh and crunchy. The minced meat is very tasty and bouncy. The not so good: the amount of soup is on the stingy side but similar to Yan Ji this is because they cook it bowl by bowl instead of having a master stock. If they add more liquid, the soup will be less tasty. I wish they did themselves a favour by explaining to customers so people would understand why they can’t entertain extra soup requests. Anyway, the amount of soup they give is already more than Yan Ji (I am also a frequent visitor to Yan Ji). The fish is super noob because they use frozen dory and it would have been much better if they used batang instead which I don’t think is that much more expensive. They used to have a long snaking queue when I first visited and when it was called Yan Ji. When they changed to OAR, the queue disappeared totally. But my personal view is that the soup is still as good, good enough for me as a normal lunch. I eat this about once a week and I think that is testament to say it’s really not bad a bowl.

I am a big lover of seafood food. I like to frequent the one at Funan (2nd floor) and the Tampines Round Market one is decent too. So when I chanced on this store at Marine Parade, I was intrigued. Unfortunately, it didn’t pay off. The first sign of trouble: no queue. Also, good seafood soup places typically have a variety of fish to choose from, albeit the price goes up accordingly. Not here. Only S/M/L. So I ordered the S with the rice for $7. Lacking both quality and quantity, it was hugely disappointing. When I collected it, definitely the lack of soup was obvious. Even worse, the lack of taste was obvious from the first sip. There was absolutely no seafood taste at all, which is incredibly bad. No hint of flavor at all, worse than the standard soup the chicken rice store gives for free. Definitely will not go back here again. Don’t waste your money and calories. Please improve

There is no queue number/buzzer system, and a highly inaccurate wait time. Was told 20min, and upon return, said to return in another 15min. A dine in order became a takeaway order - to swipe us away by giving the most ready item on hand when we came back again.. Soup broth no longer gives a kick like the former Yankee, minced meat is tasteless, prawn was OK. Hope to have a better experience next time!

It is natural to expect cockroaches to occasionally find their way into food no matter how hard a hawker tries. That is understandable. What is unacceptable though is when one informs hawker one is seeking a refund and the hawker's response is along the lines of "I've been here so many years and this is the first time someone has feedback there's a cockroach in my food". That statement is illogical. There's always a first. Hawker provided a replacement bowl but as customer, one might not be able to tell if that replacement bowl comes from the same pot of soup which comes from the same pot as the one that the cockroach did. It may or may not. However one's confidence in the product is shaken and to be safe, prefer not to consume from the same stall. Seeking a refund would be the alternative but hawker refuses to provide a refund. A simple down to earth response and refund will be better instead of not allowing a refund. Think back to the peak COVID days, where you may have needed customer's patronage now that the worse is seemingly over, you might seem to have taken that for granted. Not patronizing ever again.
