I cannot comprehend how a bowl of lor mee can be selling for $6 a bowl in our local hawker centre.

New-G taken over…technology infused production system ??…price up but taste & portion remains, menu became creative so need order Signature @$6 (up) if wanna have all-in traditional ingredients. Keep the name going!??????

Definitely not the same standard as before the “renovation closure”. Was surprised no queue at 6.45am. Ordered two bowls of the Signature lor mee. Maybe due to the previous lofty standards and unique taste, I just found it underwhelming. It is still a decent bowl but not worth a long drive to eat. Gravy and texture of it is just different from before (more starchy/gooey?). Sad that this iconic stall has lots its appeal to me. Perhaps it is due to a different crew involved in the preparations (young boys now).

Xin Mei Xiang Lor Mee is a well-known name in Singapore's lor mee scene, and rightfully so. But the long queue would only not deter the truly patient. Super flavourful sticky gravy, fresh fried batang fish fillet, a whole braised egg - this would be an almost perfect bowl of lor mee, if not for the long, exhausting wait. While it is indeed good, I would rather queue up at Xiang Ji nearby in the same hawker centre, as I somehow always manage to get to my fix of lor mee much quicker.

The original stall at Old Airport Road has finally open after a long period. The original crew of husband and wife and family members have been replaced with a corporate crew of young men with uniform polo shirts and an ordering system different from before expansion. Prices have gone up and now there are loads of menu add ons beyond what was once a single item -- lor mee based on S, M and L portion. Presumably the different menu items on offer now came from new investors who want to upsell beyond the basic lor mee. But say what you will, the lor mee here is still the best in town. Thick gooey gravy that is slurp worthy to the last drop and fried fish pieces that are meaty and tasty. This age old formula must continue to deliver and they will guarantee the long queue and even diners willingness to pay more for xin mei xiang.

Didn’t know they reopened again .. was out early for bf hunt and saw it! Theres no queue have to go for it. There’s an odd smell when you stand around the stall compared to the previous aroma. The gravy taste seemed somewhat lacking , but with the garlic chilli n vinegar, it brought back some good flavour. Ingredients are much lesser now with the price hike, otherwise still a good bowl of enjoyment

你要几碗 This Michelin Guide and popular Lor mee stall has been renovated. It is now manned by a crew of young men wearing a black T shirt with imprint 你要几碗. They have changed the ordering system by giving a queue number. This change is good. The physical queue was not as long as before. The Lor mee was still as yummy. The garlic paste and extra vinegar enhanced the palate. One of the key changes was the price has gone up. The signature lor mee is selling at S$6 and S$8. What an inflation!

Old Airport Road favourite child is finally open after a long break. The lor mee is tasty hitting all the right note. But definitely won't buy if there is a long queue. The patrons are usually elderly around the area. However you can try the copycat down a few stalls at half the price. However, the queue is even longer.
