★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today, 5th April 2022, I went to OCH to visit my mom, whom I have not seen physically for almost 2 years. With the recent reopening of visitation, which started yesterday, 4th April, I was expecting a more well-organized & well-informed system. Compared to the more than 4 TRACE Together teams of people, in the front, the checking-in team for visitors & caregivers, was only 02 makeshift tables.
The systems weren't promptly updated on the lists of nominated visitors as well. There wasn't any landline or work hp for the counter staff to call directly to the wards & get updates from the Nursing station on nominated names.
I had to call OCH myself to get the ward number & speak to the Nurses there to get approval. The lady attending at the counters were also frustrated & rather abrupt with their dealings with the people in line. They seem to lack any support, nor knowledge in how to figure out their next move. All in all, it took me over an hour to figure out how to resolve this, as the contacts I was given earlier weren't picking up. Which I took the initiative to call the ward on my own.
There were a lot of people losing their patience & tempers flaring. Elderly folks standing in line waiting to be attended to, so that they can visit their loved ones.
I would have expected that management would have had an earlier foresight for all this to happen.
My suggestion; open separate counters for caregivers & visitors. Caregivers are given free timing to visit, so they can use their own check-in area. Visitors have specific given timing, so open that for them. Promptly update the system so there'll be less confusion time taken.
Other then this "glitch" from management or those in-charge, thank you for keeping the patients safe.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My brother, Ong Chiew Seng, was transferred from SGH to OCH, ward 12A Bed 19 on the 27th May 2022. He passed away peacefully on 24 June 2022.
Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, therapist, social worker, and all staff of 12A. Throughout my brother's stay, he was well taken care of, with much patience, tolerance and attention.
Special mention to the team together with social worker, Sandy, who help set up a mini party for my brother's birthday! My family greatly appreciate the efforts put in by all of you.
Once again, a great big heartfelt thank you to all of you.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was transferred from SGH to Outram Community Hospital at ward 7C-08 on 5/4/22. Initially I cannot adapt to the way that our daily movements must be supervised by the nurses which I thought was a form of physical restrictions. After much thoughts, I realised it is for our safety on such restrictions as I'm in a Community Hospital where patients are cared for with rehabilitation to help us cope better upon discharged. The nurses are all very professional, tolerance and friendly, During the nights, the nurses would walk around to check on us. They are like parents looking after their babies.
I greatly appreciate all the care, concern and understanding of the doctors, nurses, physio that attended to me tirelessly. Special thanks to Doctor Tan, Doctor Lee (ward), Stoma Nurse Miss Liew Lee Hoong, Miss Ong, Ward nurses, Mr. Leong, Krishnan , Miss Lai and all those heroes that I didn't have their names. Not forgetting those interns and part timers. The therapist, Mr Kidman Ng, Victor, Miss Noor and Miss Lee Pei Ning who showered care and patience to help me improve on my daily mobility.
Cheers to our Angels. 你们辛苦了。Thank you all
Blessing all with good health. ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My 5th day after my knee replacement surgery and 3rd day of stay at OCH. Whilst the nurses were very helpful and professional, I find the menu limited as there were only chicken, fish or vegetarian. Same for the western menu. No pork and no beef. The Muslim selections had Mutton on some days. Limitation of 2 visitors per time during visiting hours was not clearly informed. Pillow was too hard to sleep comfortably hence recuperation was not fully possible, as with most hospital environments. Not worth the price I’m paying as a private patient in a single room ward. Just stay in the subsidised wards and quickly get well and go home.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ If there is a zero star I wont be giving it 1. Admitted my dad for 2 nights, no updates at all by the doctor. As I am the only family member, yet can only restrict my access to only the visiting hour. I fully understand that patients need to rest and can only visit during visiting hours. But as the only family member, I will need to prepare myself in any emergency case on the ground, as I can see the restriction is quite stupid in such manner. The staffs are as stubborn as a cow when I talk to them, and the way they speak sounds superior and “No means no” kind of manners. I also fully understand that there are rules to follow. But rules are meant to be follow under normal circumstances. Hope to have a good feedback channel to the government for further improvement over here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Stayed 1 night at the Short Stay Ward 10A on 10 March 2022 after my surgery. I was lucky to have a bed by the window. Ward nurses are helpful & attentive. Ward is new, clean & spacious. Bed is very comfortable. The meals they served were alright. Happy with my stay there.
