Really authentic Indonesian food located at town! Came here with my husband who’s half indo and he thoroughly enjoyed the food. I love the oxtail soup and beef rendang, these are the must try dishes IMO. The service staffs are really warm, welcoming and attentive as well! The restaurant is clean and price is reasonable for the dishes. Will be back again for sure!

To me, this is the best Indonesian restaurant in Singapore! Been my favorite since the first time I tried it when it was at north bridge road. Authentic Indonesian cuisine that I’d recommend to any one. I’ve tried almost everything in the menu and none is ever disappointing. My personal favorite (that I almost always order on every visit) are nasi kuning komplit, bakwan jagung, mie goreng jawa and rawon. Nasi kuning komplit - I love the taste of the yellow rice that’s richly authentic, the potato chips with peanuts that I never find in any other Indonesian restaurants, the all-meat beef rendang that’s very tender and the potato fritter with distinctive nutmeg taste just the way I expect my perkedel to taste like. Bakwan jagung - The best Indonesian corn fritter I had in Singapore, this is how bakwan jagung supposed to taste like! Mie goreng jawa - Other Indonesian restaurant rarely have fried noodle/rice in their menu so I really appreciate that they have this, and it has cabbage and chye sim just like fried noodle back home. Rawon - all meat and tender beef with very delicious authentic rawon soup. Their sambal is not my personal favorite but it’s pretty decent. The taste of their food is already rich and delicious that it doesn’t have to be eaten with sambal to be good. It’s mildly spicy for me. Price wise is a bit pricey though, I think since they moved, the price has increased, probably due to higher rental fee. And the portion might’ve gotten a little bit smaller than before too, it’d be better if the portion can be a tad bigger for the price they charged (or cheaper for the portion they served). Since moving to Orchard, I couldn’t enjoy their food as often anymore, but luckily they can deliver and on grab islandwide delivery too!

A bit pricey, but the taste was good. Especially their beef rendang is recommendable. The beef meat is so tender.

This is not my 1st time here. I started to dine-in here early this year. From my first visit, I already hook onto this Pondok JaTim restaurant whig remind me of East Java itself. Since it is pandemic, I still can't travel to JaTim. But things change when the staff didn't serve us as what the previous Boss treat us. Something happened that make me & my family disappointed. My family was really upset with service. The food was quite okay and it is not as fantastic as it used to be. The spiciness level was not like last time. I think they may adjust the taste and follow according to majority people who don't really eat spicy. So that kick wasn't there. I would prefer to go to a restaurant that have a authentic ambience & taste just like Jawa Timur atmosphere.. I miss JaTim so much though.

This was a review when the restaurant is in the Bugis area but they have since relocated to the Orchard area. Good, authentic Indonesian food with a fairly large menu selection of appetizers, main course, and dessert/drink. The chicken soto and chicken kare were delicious, and so is the es chendol drink. Clean with plenty of seating space.

Very enjoyable time at this restaurant, food is pretty good for an ok price, staff is very kind and accommodating (even saw them giving free drinks to patrons that were queueing). Strong recommend the grilled chicken skewers

The best Indonesian Restaurant I have tried in Singapore. Every single dish we ordered is delicious! The price is cheap yet food quality is tip top! My girls first try on Indonesian food and was hesitant at the beginning all went back happy and satisfied. Their Ayam penyet is superb, oxtail soup is heavenly! Will definitely spread the words among my friends and relatives to share with everyone such a great restaurant!

First time trying Javanese food. The fried rice and Ayam Penyet was delicious. The Tahu Telok sauce was sweeter than the typically ones - which I prefer. Slightly pricier than the stores at lucky plaza.
