It's my first time there to wash, blow and curl my hair for CNY. Firstly is the Korean lady was arguing with the lady counter about the price of wash, blow and curl is $75 and the counter lady say its $70. Then the Korea Lady was suppose to be doing my hair but I was left at the hair wash station and I heard the commotion of them saying the Korean lady didn't want to do the hair washing because it's a low class job. So a man did it for me. Makes me feel like I'm not welcome there and really spoiled my mood and experience there. I don't find washing Hair a low class job. I myself is a Pet beautian/groomer, I also does the washing and everything myself. How does washing my hair a low class job?! Never going back there again. Sorry I need to throw my frustration here. Sigh......

This is a late review. I went and did a korean perm in June 2021 at this shop. It was my first time there. My hair length was around my waist. I wanted a trim, and a korean perm. I requested for big curls, but the hairstylist said that big curls are for older age group, and suggested for small curls. I agreed as they are the experts. I sat there for about 3 hours, did my hair. After an hour, my hair lost its curl. I was not even home yet and the curl was already gone. I went back the next day to tell them. They agreed to do another perm for free on that day itself, saying that it is something they can do as according to their shop policy. I was taken aback and asked if perm can be done on 2 consecutive days. They told me it is not an issue, and that it would not spoil my hair as it is a 'korean brand' and that it is a 'good brand'. Alright, sure. I listened again. The hairstylist who attended to me told me that my hair is thick and heavy so the curl could not hold. (Weird, because this is not the first time I perm my hair. Why is it that other hair salons do not have this problem?). So the hairstylist suggest for me to cut my hair slightly shorter, and to thin it even further. I emphasized that I only want tiny trims, and I do not want to cut too much. The hairstylist kept saying that they're just gonna trim a little, won't cut a lot, told me not to worry. Voila, they cut a lot. My hair was then around my bra length area. I was upset, but again, I trust the process. They still insist on doing small curls, and they did much higher this time. Once they were done, I felt cheated. My hair which took me so long to grew till the waist area, is now at the bra length. Worst of all, my hair was dry and spoilt, the curl did not really stay, and it was slanted. I do not understand what kind of 'good, korean brand' of perm solution they used that the curl could not stay at all? I don't know if perhaps maybe small curl is supposed to be like that, but I sure do regret listening to them. What was disappointing was that I showed them a picture of how I wanted my perm to be (my previous hairstyle) and they told me confidently that they can do it, but the results is so much of a difference! I am also upset because I emphasized so many times that I do not want my hair to be short. If they were to tell me they would cut till bra length, I would have just forgo the entire thing. It is hard to grow hair till waist length area and to maintain it in a way that is relatively not frizzy, dry, and spoilt. Additionally, there is a split in the middle, bottom part of my hair. They layered that part. I supposed that's part of the 'thinning' they were referring to. After I decided to go for keratin hair treatment to fix my hair, there was a 'thinning' patch in the middle. The horror, going around with such horrible hairstyle for months! I had to wait for it to grow out and then keep trimming it till my hair looks more balanced. It's been a year since, and my hair is much better looking now. Not frizzy, no more thinning part in the middle, but still growing out my hair to reach the waist area. I leave it up to all of you to judge. But for me, I would never go back to this salon ever again. If I could give a zero star, I would. Waste of money and time. (I tried to upload with pictures as proof but for some reason if I do so, my review would not be reflected).

It was an amazing place, the hairstylist's are super friendly. Their services were great and if you bring a few extra friends you can get a free hair treatment and discounts. The results were not bad so I recommend this place for people to go visit, and I realized the place had prices that were a tad bit cheaper. Good place.

Unfortunately, not the best experience here. I wanted to make this a regular place for my hair, and I've had a perm done in 2020 which I liked - but I went back for a haircut in December last year in which the Korean hairstylist I opted for was rushing me whilst she had 2 other clients in other chairs, and didn't double check visually what length I wanted. My heart sank a little as she proceeded to chop a large chunk of the length of my hair as I was hoping for less than that (and was expecting her to at least reconfirm the length visually, not just verbally!), but she jumped straight into it and didn't really check on my opinion before she cut away at everything. It was marred further by the fact that she kept switching between 2 or 3 other clients, making me feel rushed through. I left with a haircut that was upsetting - till now, I've not been able to let my hair down because of how awful it looks, choosing instead for ponytails and tied up styles. My sister decided to give it a chance a few weeks back for her birthday, and was given a senior stylist who recommended treatment and a few other things, but she felt the cut was awful and not what she wanted - paying half a thousand and leaving the salon feeling like she was going to cry as well as her hair post cut and treatment wasn't even blow dried well, but left as is. In her words, "I left not looking like I've spent half a thousand on my hair". She also noted how the floor was littered with hair and not well maintained or cleaned up. Sadly not going to return, as we don't seem to get consistent good service or results in this salon.

Asked for a short layered cut that would have been slightly complicated. Thus decided to go to this shop because I believed the hair stylists were up to the task. Oh boy, was I wrong. I shared that I recently had health issues and wanted to get short layered hair ending near the nape so that I could put less stress on the scalp. The stylist taking care of me refused the layering, saying my hair was very spread out. Unfortunately I've cut the same hairstyle before at other high end shops in the past and was surprised that he said no. Instead he said he would give me a suitable layering that would frame my face. So since he was a senior stylist, i trusted him to give me a suitable layered cut. Unfortunately, he was finished with a damn simple cut in 15 mins that would have been $12 at qb house. In fact, before I could request for a change, he took off immediately the towel and cape upon reaching HIS DESIRED HAIRSTYLE. Its just a fringe and straight cut with slight round. And, guess what? It ends below my collarbone. HAHAHA. So I never had a chance to amend the hair cos I wanted at least more layers near the front. Paid $45 for an awful haircut and awful service that didn't take my request nor context into account. Worst of all was the fact that his scissors wasn't sharp and kept catching my hair. Ugh. How is a professional hairstylist having such awful scissors? Would not come here again. Like someone else said, feels like QB house but damn expensive. Not gonna support them anymore. My first and LAST time.

Just wanted to share my experience with korean hair stylist Jena. She totally did not understand what the meaning with "more volume", instead she made my hair so limp and lifeless. I had a waist length hair and requested for layered haircut to add more volume. It was a very horrible experience. The salon was very noisy and dirty. She also did not put the clean cape on me. It was a very different service with Pro Trim Jem. The stylist there was so much more professional. The salon was so much cleaner and overall a very pleasant atmosphere.

My daughter followed Josh from his previous salon.. his skills is best to none!! Whatever you want, you can just let him know and he can provide the best solution.. as to whether the hair style suits your face.. very friendly and humble guy!! Know we are in safe hand with him!! However, the down point has to be the receptionist!! Was standing infront of her for a good 5min.. but she was so into her drama and stretching her head that she was totally oblivious to her surroundings!

Have been a regular at Pro Trim and I always request Annie, senior hairstylist to handle my hair. She'll give good recommendations for hair colour and her haircutting skills are really good! Although the prices are always on the increase every year, it's important to build a rapport and trust with the hairstylist to do a good job for me! TIP: Try not to go for any hairstyling services during peak hour. Go during off peak so that the hairstylist will have more time and in a better mood to give you their best.
