β β β β β I would be wary of learning from Mr. Chun Kai Feng, who would put on a pleasant outlook only to talk trash behind your back. Clearly thinks highly of his worldview, enough to misrepresent the situation. Would you accept a teacher talking about his students like this? Why would you post something rather than have a conversation face-to-face?

β β β β β It was our first time doing any sort of pottery work and it was amazing. Hats off to Elizabeth and Kai Feng for being so friendl, patient and helpful, answering all our questions too. It was a great experience! Thank you!

β β β β β Doing pottery to me was to find a sense of peace. However, working in this studio has tbe opposite feeling. Environment: Location is very industrial, empty corridors hard to find place. You will be working on a table facing the wall, feeling very enclosed and lack of space. Teacher (a young girl) was not approachable, did not learn much from this person. Poor follow up and she went on holiday we could not collect the art that we paid to have it fired up. No follow up afterwards. Would not recommend to anyone.
Update to reply to owner: wrote this review some months after the session...

β β β β β A great place for a creative team bonding session. The team behind School of Clay Arts were very accommodative and responsive even though it was almost close to the festive period when I brought my entire team down for a pinchpotting session (~16 pax) and a pretty last minute request as well.
My team has nothing but praises for the session that we had - both teachers were very helpful in guiding and ensuring that we get the most out of the time we spent there.
Would recommend School of Clay Arts to anyone looking for a team-bonding spot.

β β β β β I am totally hooked on pottery since I took on a pottery fundamentals handbuilding course and an introduction to throwing on the wheel at School of Clay Arts. I always enjoyed going to class. Elizabeth is a passionate instructor who gives students enough freedom to explore. I can definitely recommend this wonderful studio!

β β β β β Attended Februaryβs Pottery Fundamentals: Handbuilding workshop that spanned 4 sessions and had a great time! Would highly recommend this course to anybody interested in learning the basics of working with clay.
SOCAβs classes had just the right balance of theory and instruction with time given for us to experiment and practice on our own. Really appreciated Elizabeth and Kai Fengβs patient and attentive guidance and expertise, sharing with us about the local pottery scene and their knowledge of different pottery techniques and styles from different countries (especially Japan!) Class size was small enough that we all received regular feedback on how we were doing as well.
Really enjoyed the relaxed environment with a focus on learning and not perfectionism, Elizabeth and Kai Feng were very encouraging and flexible. ?????? Looking forward to more pottery classes in the future !

β β β β β I signed up for and attended the workshop over a course of 4 weeks.
The studio has a cosy and calm feel to it, and the instructors, Elizabeth and Kai Feng are friendly, patient and always sharing interesting nuggets of information to provide a larger context to our understanding of ceramics and clay. I liked how they were always willing to provide some guidance, but also often encouraged us to try and find our styles, with a focus not just on the outcome but also on our understanding of the techniques as well as our learning/progress.
They would often take time to explain and share their knowledge on pottery in other cultures, or other inspirational potters with different styles. I now look at the ceramics around me differently, wondering how they are crafted.
Personally, I also like their studio glazes / style which has a calm and clean feel to them. Would recommend for beginners to ceramics who are interested in understanding and improving their techniques, as well as the background behind pottery.

β β β β β I was at SOCA this week with 3 girl friends. My very first time working with clay. And it was a lovely experience.
Elizabeth was very patient with us. We learn about clay through her interesting sharing, structured instructions for our hands on and finally she guided us closely ensuring that we successfully make a nice bowl. Cant wait for it to be ready!
I would highly recommend this class to anyone new to pottery!
