I attended the 5 weeks introductory wheel throwing class in January, and it was a really good experience for me, covering the full breadth of taking a piece of clay from the pack to firing it in the kiln. I really like that the class size is small (for me it was 6 pax) and conducive for learning. Alan was very patient in showing us the ropes (even when I wasn’t ha ha) and takes care to explain all the relevant concepts and techniques to us. The studio is quite new and very neat and is rather centrally located. There’s also an open studio membership where you can come and practice in your own time, which I will be back for as well.

Did a 5 week introductory course to pottery just for fun and I really grew to love the experience! Every class we learn something new, and Alan was always there to help guide us and encourage us, making sure we had the full hands on experience to fail and improve. In this course you build all of your individual unique pieces by yourself, from throwing to trimming to glazing. The studio was also always clean and comfortable. ? highly recommend!

Fun experience, Alan was a very helpful teacher (wheel throwing isnt that easy). Unfortunately one of our plates cracked when firing but they gave us another one!

A first timer in pottery and we took the wheel throwing experience. The studio is cozy and air-conditioned, which makes making conducive during our stay. It focuses on being mindful with our hands and not so much on techniques as it is definitely a craft that requires time and practice to be comfortable working with our hands. The instructor was patient that makes the experience enjoyable.

Attended the 2 hour workshop and it was an interesting experience. It looks easy but doing it is tough and you really don't know how much you are not in control of your body until you have to use it. Alan, our instructor was really patient and helpful in rescuing our clay when we have difficulties shaping our pots.

My friends and I recently went for the Wheel Throwing Experience workshop. The vibes of the place was great! In addition, we really appreciate the small class size because it meant that Alan had ample time to guide each and every student. He also made it a point to answer all doubts and supplement explanations with demonstrations wherever possible. As with all 1-day classes, it is definitely not enough to learn the ropes. However, it definitely piqued my interest in pottery (watching the demonstration for the shaping process is soooo therapeutic) and I will certainly continue learning. Would recommend everyone to take a class and try it out!

Had originally found Terra & Ember online when I was searching for a birthday activity for my good friend. We ended up doing something else then but glad we finally made it here - it was a great day out and Alan was extremely patient with us beginners. There was time for free play for us to a get a sense of the process, but Alan also very promptly ‘saved’ us when needed. Group was relatively small and ours had a nice, friendly energy. Location was a bit of a (nice) surprise, you’ll ultimately find yourself in a tranquil spot you may not expect in Geylang. 10/10 would recommend!

My friend and I went for the 2 hour wheel throwing workshop. It was super fun and there was ample time for hands on with the clay. Alan is a very friendly, patient and experienced instructor and he ensured that he spent enough time guiding the each participant. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to give a go at pottery!
