Fresh muffins around Bukit Timah area is always hard to find, especially good ones. This one situated in at the corner of the Bukit Timah Hawker Centre is great, especially if the muffins are fresh out of the oven. They have a buy 5 get 1 free bundle, so try to see how best you can get a box that makes it more worthwhile.

Make sure you're there when the muffins are fresh out of the oven. The entire corner area would smell super duper lovely and the muffins super yummy. I liked the carrot walnut muffin, and the classic chocolate chips muffin. If they've ran out and you're waiting, do make sure you let auntie know what you want, so she can keep a record and once it's out of the oven, she will serve you first.

I probably won't buy from the SL II Muffin at Bukit Timah Market and Food Centre. There was once when I bought an egg tart and the custard was very runny and didn't seem cooked enough. When I highlighted that to the lady, she insisted that there was nothing wrong with the egg tart and refused to change a new one for me. There was another incident whereby the same lady was talking to a customer while she was making tarts but there was no mask over her mouth. I feel it was very unhygienic as we would not know even if she accidentally spit her saliva into the tarts.

Went by around 8.30am and only egg tarts and a few muffins were available. Asked about the raved coconut tarts and was told they are only available from 11am onwards. Bought one egg tart and one chocolate chip muffin. Nothing to shout about for the muffin despite recommendation and the only special part of the egg tart was that it was wobbly and pudding like.. less egg taste and the base different from other egg tarts out there. The uncle manning the shop wasn't very friendly but he's just probably busy with his baking? Visited them 2nd time for their coconut tart and other muffins around lunch hour. Now I understand why the coconut tarts are so sought after. Flavourful and baked to perfection, the shredded coconut was done so well you couldn't stop at just one. Got their apple cinnamon muffin as well and I think they gave me the wrong one as mine was just plain muffin with no apple filling nor cinnamon taste, just plain muffin.? Conclusion, try their egg tart if you have never tried them before. Else, just get the coconut tarts, nuff said.

Love the muffins and coconut tart. Highly recommend the chocolate banana muffin.

Purchased blueberry muffins from the pop-up store at Lot1 atrium on 11 June. The muffin itself is soft, has good texture, but I found it overly sweet and salty at the same time, I can't taste blueberry. Would prefer to buy their egg tarts instead.
