the egg tart here are really good. it's crispy, and flavourful. They never fail at the egg tart The French toast is quite good too, good for sharing. The mains, we tried the fried radish cake and the silky egg fried rice. These 2 are bad. The radish and egg seperated. It feels like I'm eating fried egg with radish. This dish also lack flavours. The silky egg fried rice was with plain rice. A very unimpressive dish. It was fried egg and char siew and prawns on top of white rice. Nothing particularly good or tasty.

Had my lunch here for the first time during the weekends prior to the dine-in restrictions and I was pleased at how affordable and delicious everything was. The staff told me that they only use fresh chicken thighs for all their chicken dishes, and lo and behold, it was super crispy on the outside, yet juicy and tender on the inside, exactly what I would want in a chicken chop! The scrambled eggs that went with it were fluffy and tasty too ! The curry chicken dish here is was also very tender, delicious and their curry is flavourful and not overly spicy. The staff had great service and even offered to top up more curry gravy for me! Kudos to Tai Cheong Bakery for their amazing food with amazing prices!

A perfect place to head to if you’re craving for some HK comfort food. Went there with the sole purpose of having their macaroni - the tomato base was surprisingly flavourful and thick, matched well with the soft and tender macaroni. It seems a tad excessive to have 3 eggs in one dish tbh and that was the only imbalance we found in the dish. The baked pork cutlet rice was okay. Pork was tender and juicy. Rice was average, a little too β€œjelat” to finish. The scrambled eggs toast with chicken was pretty good - fried chicken was super juicy and flavourful. But the toast and egg itself is quite underwhelming. The egg especially could be better and more runny. It was also bland. Would return for the macaroni!

Actually wanna give 3.5 stars. 3 cos' overall so-so in term of service, food quality and ambience. Added 0.5 star, cos' some items are quite hard to find in SG, eg baked pork chop rice in tomato sauce base.

Nice vintage furnishings and decorations to resemble HK θŒΆι€εŽ… but ambience was spoilt by staff (especially the two waitresss) who can’t stop chatting loudly among themselves. Prices may seem expensive but they are nett (no service charge and GST). Portions were generous too. However, overall food quality was disappointing. The crust of the egg tart was salty and coarse - we could feel the grains of salt/sugar, which probably haven’t been entirely dissolved before baking. The toast was fluffy but with poor quality honey. Macaroni was full of MSG.

Really nice Hong Style Cha Can Teng experience. 3 Egg Noodles with luncheon was sinful bliss. Chicken instead of Tomato soup base. Flavorful and medium mouthfeel. Polo Bun Scrambled Eggs with Chicken cutlet. Fantastic ! Scrambled eggs had a hint of milk , cutlet was fried perfectly with out tasting too heavy on the oil. Polo bun was their signature so cant go wrong with this!

Two ⭐ seems a tad harsh, but I think it reflects our collective disappointments. Starting with the 菠萝油 which is far from average and this is surprising since they make really good pies/ tarts. The curry beef was not what you'll compare with those in HK, it's got more of a local flavor (and too milky for my liking). The famed toast with chicken chop was the main culprit for the rating because the chicken was so greasy and the eggs not fluffy like what I had imagined (no layering in the texture - just a densed block of scrambled eggs. The macaroni in tomato soup was ok - and was a big help cutting the greasy feeling. The ice lemon tea with less sugar was poor (it just felt like a lack of effort). Lastly, the hot milk tea with no sugar was pretty average. But this does not reflect how highly I rate their pies - which I'll go on to buy next.
