Matt is a great trainer who will help you to meet your fitness goals. He works with you not only to develop a workout plan but also a nutrition plan. He makes every workout fun and changes up routines so you don’t get bored. Matt helped me to better understand my nutrition and how to have a healthy but fun diet. Matt has helped me to lose a significant amount of weight and feel better than I have in years. What I appreciate the most is Matt has taught me sustainable fitness principles that will help me for the rest of my life.

I came to John for a solution for my back pain. It turns out my back was weak from prolonged sitting so he customized a program to strengthen my back muscles. My back pain is gone after a few months of training. Now, with my big day coming, I engaged John for another program to lose weight and build muscle. With his guidance on nutrition and training, I'm seeing good results ? I would highly recommend John as your PT ?

I was struggling to lose my postpartum pregnancy weight with my second boy. One year into power pumping, I still couldn’t lose the weight. I was a sized XS/S but for a year long - I had to make do with M/L (ZARA). It was really depressing. I was then introduced to Matt and started my weight loss journey. As I was making significant progress, I found out I was pregnant again! Such is life. LOL! 3.5 months postpartum, I started training again and this time under John. In the short 4-6 months with Thrive & under John’s meticulous care, I went from 62kg to 52kg! AMAZING! I am so grateful to both Matt and John! I feel healthier & fitter but more importantly I feel really really good. Their training plans are amazing. Both Matt and John never impose or enforce strict dietary plans. They understood what I need and most importantly what I enjoy. I am allowed to enjoy my curries, my carbs & my champagnes! John literally designs a training plan that I enjoy and look forward to! I remember coming back from holidays and told John - I can’t believe I lose weight after all those food. His reply was simply - when you train under me, you shall be lean. He is absolutely spot on! Thank you Thrive!

If you are looking for an experienced, attentive yet committed trainer, look no further with John. John is an active listener and is focused on making sure I achieve my fitness goals in a healthy and sustainable manner. - Ensure my technique/form is correct to avoid any injuries - Always accountable, with highest form of punctuality - Knowledgeable, and explains the reasoning behind every training program I would not been more pleased and would highly recommend him to anyone who is ready to embark on a fitness journey.

In 2018 I decided to start my fitness journey - that’s also when I met John. It was my first time stepping into the gym and was feeling a little intimated but John made it super easy and comfortable, patiently guiding me through each exercise. What I really appreciate about John is that he does not only want you to be physically fit and healthy, he also spends time helping you to understand the benefits of being active so that your mental health is also in tuned with your fitness journey. John is also a qualified pre/postnatal trainer so I didn’t have any concerns working out during the early part of my pregnancy nor did I think twice to engage John again postnatal once I was ready to get back in the game. Super grateful to have met such a professional PT!

My husband and I joined Thrive with John as our PT and sessions with him have been so amazing and fun. He is really patient and encouraging, he understands our needs and adjusts accordingly. Matt has also been very helpful with any questions we have with regards to sessions!

I was introduced to Matt Benfell late August 2021 when I was seeking a change in my then personal training plan. Following an introductory phone call and an hour long first assessment, Matt was able to establish the pain-points I was facing of not seeing progress in my past two year personal training plan. He spent quality time educating me of my gaps and proposed a fitness journey that would take me to the finish line. Within 8 weeks of working with Matt, the results were visible. The strength based training methods applied coupled with close guidance on daily dietary habits formed a winning formula for me - this was consistent across his clients and is only testament to his results driven approach to fitness training. Each week I was lifting heavier weights, and performing better and stronger. Aside from being one of the best and trusted instructors in the industry, Matt has also groomed a team at Thrive Fitness that applies similar principles to client transformation. In a world where fitness trainers are a plenty, finding one that is less about the transaction and more on the transformation is rare. His great personality, and kind, trust-worthy and humble nature is an added bonus.

John is awesome at what he does and particularly good if you’re looking to start training again after having a baby. I started training with John 2 months post partum - he was very careful then and started me slow. With his training program I have now not only regained my strength and muscle which I’ve lost but also a lot stronger than I was before after just 6 months of training! John is fun to train with although he repeats his jokes, never a dull moment with him and more importantly he is encouraging and very motivating.
