Came here for lunch at about 12pm. Ordered the buddy meal 2 mains for 11 bucks. Ordered curry rice with chicken/ pork cutlet. Well it’s decent enough to be finished completely. Let’s talk about cons. I can handle samyang spicy chicken ramen without breaking a sweat. So when I had this, I don’t think it’s spicy at all. It’s rather sweet actually. Another con is that the whole meal wasn’t hot. It’s more of warm. I consumed my meal the moment it was ready and didn’t really wait for it to cool down. I would advise getting the chicken instead of pork. Pork was rather dry and thin. But chicken was quite succulent. Pros. It’s a decent curry. Not too watery and not too thick. Right consistency. Coffee is not bad, taste better than your average coffee.

[Toby’s series part 1: Affordable & yummy mains with free drinks!] ?BBQ Baby Ribs ?10.90 Where else can we find BBQ ribs at this price??? So tasty and succulent too! Love the tangy BBQ sauce that whets my appetite with every bite! ? ?Chicken Cutlet Curry Rice ?6.90 Thick slab of crispy chicken cutlet! I usually prefer thin cutlet as some thick ones can be tough/chewy. But this is TENDER! ? Comes with a runny sunny side up and cabbage. Love that their curry is spicy, got kick! ? The mains are so wallet-friendly yet we still get a complimentary drink! Choose between calamansi or water chestnut, so refreshing! ?? [Toby’s series part 2: Beautiful & satisfying cakes!] Cannot leave @tobys_kopi_toast_bakery without trying their eye-catching cakes! Not just pretty but yummy too! ? ?D’Lover ?7.90 All 3 cakes are nice but this is my top favourite! Super creamy MSW durian mousse encased in varlhona chocolate fudge! It’s so addictive and light on the palate that I kept taking bite after bite without stopping! ? ?Orh Nee Cake ?7.90 My 2nd favourite! The yam paste taste natural and the fresh cream is very light! Must-try for orh nee lovers! ? ?Ondeh Ondeh Cake ?7.90 Pandan sponge cake goes so well with gula melaka buttercream right?! Toby’s strike the right balance as it isn’t overly sweet (but still sweeter than the orh nee cake, so I would recommend this for people with sweet tooth ?) Topped with fresh coconut shavings that enhance the overall taste! ?If you find my above review helpful, check out my IG @samlivestoeat for more foodie reviews! ?

Hidden gem discover! Located at Tradehub 21, Toby’s Kopi Toast Bakery serves affordable & good quality food. They recently revamped their menu & offer a wide range of local favourites from curry rice, noodles, western to breakfast toast & desserts at affordable price. FOOD REVIEW: Pork Pulled Burger. For the price of $14.50, you get a generous pile of overflowing pulled pork between two grilled buns served with crispy fries. The shredded pork is flavourfully packed with just the right amount of spice and is delightfully soft and juicy. The tomato and lettuce certainly did their part in adding some freshness and crunch to it. What makes this a winner is how it achieves a perfect balance out of the strong flavour. This my number 1 favourite. If burger is not for you, the pork pulled is available in pizza & pasta as well. BBQ Baby Ribs. Literally the most affordable & tasty Ribs you can find! Deliciously deep in flavour with that sticky sweet sauce rub. I asked the staff & was told is their special in house sauce. It has a fantastically seasoned smoky aroma that really comes through in the taste. The meat is lean, yet plentiful & soft. At just $10.90 & come with half slab, fries & coleslaw, honestly is a steal! Close fight with pulled pork burger. Taco Chicken Wing $11.90. This delish fried chicken wing sprinkle with in house spices & fried to perfect golden crispy that result in crispy, crunchy goodness with every bite & leaving you no oily smears. Serve along side with the sun-dries tomato dipping sauce. The moment you dip that crispy chicken in, totally elevate & makes it even better and insanely tasty! DESSERT REVIEW: The local dessert Pulut Hitam takes on the form of a cake‼️ A mixture of black glutinous rice and fresh cream sandwiched between soft sponge cake and is topped off with more of the scrumptious black glutinous rice. What makes this cake incredibly mouth-watering is that it’s moist but not dense and the black glutinous rice definitely gives you a more wholesome bite. And one would expect this to be heavy and jelat but on the contrary it's very light and not overly sweet. Making this a great twist to the usual dessert. This make it my favourite ? Orh Nee Cake. Towering in height and layering of fresh orh nee filling sandwiched between soft spongy cake covered with coconut cream. Tastes nearly authentic to the actual and original orh nee with it's grainy texture and rich yammy earthen sweetness. My only complain would be wishing the sponge be lesser and orh nee filling be more so the orh nee can shine more ? since orh nee is the highlight here right ? Ondeh Ondeh Cake. Soft and moist pandan sponge, filled with fragrant gula melaka and fresh dessicated coconut. The best part of this cake is the fresh juicy dessicated coconut and how light and fluffy the cake texture is and isn’t overwhelmingly sweet. Every bite is just spoonfuls of comfort. I say even when you don't stay in West, the food and dessert is worth the trip down. And if you're staying in the West, you definitely shouldn't miss this!!! Ig: @zoey_belle_

Cool cafe to chill on a hot Saturday afternoon. $3.80 toast, soft boiled eggs and coffee set is damn worth it! Ordered some cakes to share, particularly love the beet root red velvet cheese cake. Many choices for quick lunch, including Taiwanese braised pork rice, chicken cutlet rice, etc.

Here we are having the Hainanese Pork Cutlet Curry Rice & BBQ Baby Ribs. The crust of the pork cutlet is made up of soda biscuit, deep fried to crisp. Love that runny egg yolk as always. The BBQ Baby Ribs is well marinated, meat is tender and soft with some fats within. Toby’s is really affordable with wide selection of food available suitable for any day any time. They served desserts as well but we were really full from the main course.

If you are up for local favourites & western dishes at affordable prices, check out Toby’s Kopi Toast Bakery! One of their more popular items is the ??? ???? ????. The meat was really fork-tender and well-marinated, with a good ratio of meat and fat! The sticky BBQ sauce slathered over the ribs leans on the sweeter side but added smokiness to the overall flavour profile. The thick-cut paprika fries that came along were crispy too! For $6.90, the ????? ???? (???? ???? ??????/???? ?????) is an absolute bargain given the hearty portions! The highlight for us was definitely their pork cutlet which was coated with soda cracker crust. Every piece of the cutlet was meaty with a light crunch on the exterior, and it didn’t feel overly oily. The curry has a good consistency & went well with the rice and cutlet.?? Don’t forget to grab their cakes for dessert too! . Address: #01-35, Tradehub21, 8 Boon Lay Way, 609964
