Tsuru-Koshi Udon - 391 Orchard Rd

I always enjoy coming here for udon - the noodles are cooked to a nice springy texture and the broth is very refreshing and tasty. Definitely one of the better places for udon in Singapore!

Love their udon! Broth is light and tasty, udon slippery and has a good bite. Also love their tempuras- prawn, enoki, chukuwa, pumpkin are all good. Batter is light and not overly greasy.

I love the food here everytime. I consider it to be the fast food of Takashimaya. It’s appetising, affordable and quite healthy! The chashu rice is kids friendly and I always add an onsen egg to go along with the rice - the kids always finish it! The green tea cannot be refilled though - argh!

Pretty good and simple udon, with freshly fried tempura. This little eatery is located beyond the food court area of Takashimaya. If you have craving for udon + tempura, this will definitely hit the spot. Try the chicken karage, affordable and fresh fried too. Recommended ???

Popped into Takashimaya while craving for some udon. Located at the Basement 2 food area, Tsuru-Koshi Udon is a small eatery serving yummy udon meals. Sitting is in an open area within a limited space so queueing is a must. Can be confusing as you need to order, pay for your food then join the queue which is diagonally opposite the shop, and not the queue in front of the shop. The udon is a little less flavourful but can still get the job done when the craving strikes. General Verdict: The Tonkotsu Broth is yummy but a little thin. Just sharing photos of their menu and also tempura udon ($13.80), gst included in the dish. I have tried quite afew tempura dishes before and this dish is quite ok for the price , value and fast service at Takashimaya. Please consider to try it one day. ??? I went on a Thursday night and it was moderately crowded with short waiting time to enter 10 minutes and the dish was served within 5 minutes . Limited seats available but the service is fast.

Average udon with affordable prices. Nothing fancy so do not expect much, good for a quick meal. We ordered the tan tan udon, both cold and hot. Udon was cooked well. Enjoyed the ebi tempura too, the batter wasn’t too heavy. Might try the tonkatsu/ soup udon next time.

If you crave for those chain eatery of Japan but have no budget nor time to go to the land of the rising sun, this is a stop gap measure. This is straight out of the 500 yen selection shop that serve udon . Hot or cold. Nothing fancy but you got what you need. Onsen egg check. Rice dish check. Tempura check. Authentic enough Japanese meal check . I personally find the karrage a little on the oily side and the minced chicken lack much favour. Unfortunately we are forking out 800-1200 yen here for the 500yen quality. I do not have much complaint as I'm 5200+ km away from Japan.
