When I was there a while ago, there was a super long queue for fried chicken wings and fried eggs. I liked it and will go back again.

Although a small and relatively hidden L-Shaped Hawker Center located between Havelock and Tiong Bahru, it has several stalls that are quite popular. Topping the list would be Guang Fa Laksa, Shan Duck Rice, the Nasi Lemak and the CKT stalls. While there is a lack of variety due to its limited stalls, most stalls offer something worth trying ??

A small Food Centre with not many stalls, yet all the old and experienced hawkers with great skills and nice food.

When it comes to “chye tow kway” or Fried Carrot Cake my default order is the white version. However, I always order the black version from stall #01-20. There isn’t a brand name on the signboard - just the words: “Fried Carrot Cake” on one half of the signboard. The uncle who does the frying shares the space with a lady who sells “ngoh hiang”. What I like about his is the abundance of garlic and “chye por”. He doesn’t hold back with the sweet thick black sauce either, so if he happens to fry it a little longer, there’s caramelised bits aplenty. I have a habit of adding an extra egg for 50cents more as well. Parking is quite convenient but if you drop by during peak hours, you might need to wait a while for a spot.

S$4 Flavorful Hokkien mee with 2 fresh prawn and 4 clams, egg and pork lard topping. I think it taste better than their beehoon. I like the chilli so I asked for more #01-03 Havelock food centre 友谊 fish soup $3 ban mian taste light and healthy, pretty cheap and taste not bad. They didn’t increase their price for many years. Old skool economical beehoon at $3 with yam cake. I like the noglestic feel of the Beehoon. Though portion quite small. Review as posted on my IG. Yummymich

Found a hidden gem recently at Havelock Road Cooked Food Centre. It is Soon Heng White Bee Hoon. It sells both white bee hoon and Hokkien Prawn Mee. My ❤️ lies on their Hokkein Prawn Mee. The white bee hoon is also tasty. Feel like healthier version. They are open from 8:30am. Great for people who wants it for breakfast. The lard is so crispy. I just have to polish all of it! There is so much gravy till I worry i spill it Haha. The gravy is so flavorful. Yum yum. Sinful but delicious haha. I ordered $4 version IG: Eatdreamlove

Came to Havelock Road food center to try out the Duck Noodle/Rice stall. I even added extra rice to go along with the duck rice. The soup also has mild herb taste. Pretty good ??

A quaint old and small hawker centre but there's quite a few nice eats here, from $3 Kway Chup, Duck Rice to Seafood White Beehoon, Tom Yum fish soup with Fried Fish nuggets and nice Mee Rebus and Char Kway Teow. Seating can be scarce at peak lunch time, and hot too. But great if you can make late breakfast or early lunch. Ample and convenient parking too. As like many older hawker centres, the seatings, tables and spaces can be a little tired and old, sometimes dirty, but it does give an old school era of eating in an older estate. Probably the last few places your $3 gives you a full meal, especially for decent Kway Chup.
