Yakiniku Don-Don 1st - 90 Tg Pagar Rd

Definitely not cheap but the beef is superb! Spent averages $270 because we usually go with alcohol! The wagyu, short rib and chunk eye roll is to die for!! Quite good customer service as well.. One of the best Yakiniku in Singapore , will be back again!

I've dined here multiple times before but this is the first time in 2 years. We made a reservation for 2 pax and got the counter seat, which we preferred as we liked watching the preparation of dishes. The dishes were yummy and nicely seasoned. Had the raw beef with egg, their signature ox tongue, spicy rib eye, miso short ribs, and four stomach. Would only suggest to avoid the four stomach as it came in huge slices and was chewy and rubbery thus hard to swallow. Spent $150 for 2 pax. Service was alright. It was easy to catch the attention of the waitress and she was responsive.

Tried to visit this shop on Friday evening without reservation but the waiting time was too long so we came back on a Sunday evening with booking ahead of time. The yakiniku here is great. Definitely recommend the spring onion beef tongue and thick cut beef tongue for beef tongue lovers. The beef cube is also perfect, grilled and melt in your mouth. Side dish is delicious, except that the potato salad is a bit too salty to my taste. The shop is pretty small and almost all chairs are high seats, making it a bit uncomfortable. Would definitely come back for yakiniku experience. And highly recommend to reserve ahead of time to avoid waiting as the capacity is limited :)

We had reservation at this restaurant @3.30pm, we choose to eat at this timing because it was not peak hour, less people so we can have a good table to enjoy food. We reached on time and the whole restaurant was empty except one table occupied. The staff seat us at bar table but I told her that I prefer to sit inside instead of this one near the entrance. The staff told me inside was fully booked so we cannot sit inside. I listened to her and started to order food, after a while I asked the staff again whether inside table available the answer was NO still. At this timing the weather was super hot and the sun glare reflection from the car outside can shine into our eyes, I have no choice to ask my boyfriend block the sunlight (with his body) away from me while we are having our food. Around 10mins later there was one couple walked in without reservations, the staff asked them to sit inside table directly. At this moment I couldn’t stand anymore because my boyfriend was still blocking the sunlight away for me and the whole restaurant inside table was EMPTY!!! I asked again why they can have a table inside without booking but we booked in advance cannot have the table we preferred and the answer was just now got cancellations. They did not change the table for us after that and the staff showed the face like nothing happened and ignored us expect the chef was explaining to us. This was my worst experience and no matter the taste of food I cannot accept the service and attitude of the staff. Until we leaving the restaurant the table inside was still empty. What’s the point of reservation? ?

Cool interior with the Japanese vibes but they sell korean food, maybe because it’s fusion food. The cube beef and cold noodles was amazing but the rest was kinda normal. Good place to try once, as the place is kinda hot

Second time visiting! Came back for the beef tongue for sure - must try. The Wagyu and marinated beef were good as well. Food was excellent, the only thing I would warn you is that the grill is extremely hot and the fan is not working. Throughout our 1.5hr of meal time, I had to use a cold towel to cool myself down ? but other than that, will keep visiting for special occasions (not cheap haha)

It’s a place we would go back again and again. Meat is fresh and good (the cubes melt in your mouth). I constantly dream about the beef tartare with egg. We usually top off the meat feast with cold noodles. Of course the meal isn’t complete without drinks. Highly recommend.

Food quality is wonderful. High quality, deeply marinated cuts on a nice portable grill for ur group. However the prices and portions are just like fine dining and might not appeal to everyone. The place is also dam hot and staff seems overworked. Should not pack more customers than they can handle
