When we first found out about YGF, we had it every weekend straight for about 2 months LOL Their beef soup is super flavourful and the ingredients are always cooked perfectly Definitely the place I recommend to anyone who asks for meal recco in Bugis area The one in the pix is the dry version which we got delivered and is yummy, but the soup one is next level

"Maybe a good place for mala tang BUT NOT FOR DRY MALA" Decided to try this place as it was relatively new in the area. First thing we noticed, the reminder in the shop saying they don't serve rice. Doesn't it sound weird? Mala place but no rice available? Nevermind, maybe they just ran out of rice for the day or smth I thought. Here comes the terror. We ordered dry mala but guess what. They just boiled all the ingredients and gave us some sauce ? The sauce tastes like peanut satay sauce, it's not mala sauce at all! So it's like just eating the yong tau foo with sauce. It's not a bad restaurant (I hope). It's just disappointing as I was expecting something else. Maybe... maybe I would come back and try the mala tang if I have a chance next time ??

Beef broth malatang is nice but the less spicy was still too spicy for me. Love the free condiments, minced garlic went very well with the ingredients.

It was my first experience eating Mala Tang and I was looking forward to it. I had heard a lot about this outlet and we dropped in for lunch to fortify ourselves before an afternoon of ardorous shopping at Bugis Street located close by. The place was quite full but the friendly staff found us a table. My friend, a mala addict, was a past master at the whole process of how to go about your Mala Tang journey. If you are a novice like me, it's better to tag along with an experienced person for your first time. We picked up a large bowl and proceeded to fill it with the mind-boggling array of ingredients on display. There was a huge selection of meats, vegetables, funguses, tofus, seafood and noodles to select from. There was carrot, buckwheat, sweet potato and spinach noodles if I remember right. We chose one block of carrot noodles. Some of the ingredients I remember selecting (was in a bit of a daze by then) spinach, bok choy, broccoli, beans, enoki mushrooms, black fungus, tofu skin, shrimp balls with a nice cheesy filling, crab balls, Chinese sausage(?), some sliced fish and meats. We had more than half a bowl of ingredients by then. We handed this over at the counter where they weigh it to decide on the pricing as all ingredients are priced the same. You have a choice of three ways to eat your Mala Tang, a Beef broth, a Tomato broth or Dry. We went for the Beef broth and asked for the lowest level of spice. (You can opt for medium or high if you want to). Once your ingredients are cooked in the broth, you can choose from an array of sauces and condiments to add to the flavour. I found my first experience of Mala Tang a memorable one. It was super tasty and spicy. The broth was so good that I could have spent my whole afternoon slurping it. Remember to arm yourself with lots of paper napkins, wet wipes and a tall and cold drink while you are on this journey!

If you're looking to fill your tummy, then maybe this is the right place for you. With a large portion of food for 2, you should get the bowl at a decent price. However, I didn't think the food worked for me. With overcooked noodles, and mala sauce that tasted like satay sauce, i was disappointed with the results. The dishes had no additional flavours so I was down to what the sauce had to offer. ?

Disclaimer. I don't really like garlic which is why this place is only 3 stars for me. The soup had a really strong garlic flavour and I kept eating chopped garlic pieces. That aside, super large variety of ingredients! And they are fresh and good too. Comes with a complimentary sauce. Place is not small but it is crowded so please be considerate and leave after you're done ;) Soup is unexpectedly not spicy. Spice lovers can get spicer soup.

One of the better Mala soup pot out there in SG. When I first tasted Yang Guo fu before Circuit Breaker, I was mesmerised by the beef broth. My entire family loves it. I have yet to taste a beef broth similar to it yet. Strongly recommended. Just go for the mild spicy so you can taste the original flavour. Just to clarify, I had not bit into any garlic in the soup throughout my multiple visits . However, there are chopped garlic garish, spring onions, chopped chilli available for you to add into your soup or to create your dip. The tomato soup base was a little too acidic for me, but do try it yourselves if you are a tomato soup lover. Price wise, itโ€™s slightly on the higher end as itโ€™s a family restaurant, so dun compare its price to foodcourt Mala stall. Everything goes by weight with the same priceโ€ฆ meat, veg and all. If you have experience on picking food for mala hotpot, you would know what are the food to pick to get the most out of it. Please exercise caution and not blame the restaurant if you picked all the weighty stuff and end up with a hefty billโ€ฆ

Simple and delicious. Fast service. Ingredients are averagely fresh. Wished for more fatty cuts. Too lean sometimes meat quite tough. Also try to separate the meat as u picked them, if not the chef might miss out separating them and cook them in a lump. Young male cashier is quite attentive and prompt.
