β β β β β Best to go when they are just open otherwise it will be crowded with families . Good size portion and I would recommend delicious saba fish. Relax atmosphere and last week they played nice instrumental music. Which is quite rare to find.

β β β β β Had a fine and fun dining over at this branch. My husband's favorite japanese hotpot atm! Everything is fuelling, tasty and fresh even the kids meal. Their hotpot is a must try if you are gonna visit. One of a kind.

β β β β β I was at United Square a few Sundays walking around looking for dinner. This Japanese restaurant was not very crowded.
That was where we went for dinner eventually.
Went in, sat at a table and started browsing the menu.
We used the tablet at the side to order our dinner.
Entered our orders but in the end, we got this error message and had to order from someone instead.
The pot of green tea came fast which was good because we were thirsty.
My wife had this fish with rice. The fish was nice but it was a bit of work to get the bones out.
My choice was this set of vegetables and pork with rice.
The slices of pork in there was bit fatter than I prefer.
They have some meals from $9.90 but not what we chose.
The dinner was almost $40 for both of us. Bit expensive than I hoped for but overall was OK.

β β β β β The Shima Hokke Teishoku was not bad. The mackerel was juicy and meaty, and the skin was not charred. From an earlier visit, the saba shioyaki was fresh, juicy and meaty. The soft tofu in the teishoku seemed to be missing garnish and sauce. Reasonably priced dishes.

Ample seating space.
Had to order through the iPad, quite simple to use, once you had gotten the hang of it.
Food took a while to prepare.
Other than that, everything was great. The food was tasty. Price was reasonable.
Overall experience was great!
One of my favourite restaurant in United Square Mall!

β β β β β Don't go when it's crowded. I think they haven't quite scaled up for the full capacity since Covid, so if it's crowded, waiting time is really long for your food to arrive. Ours took almost half an hour, and one of our orders was forgotten. If it's not crowded, service is alright, food is not bad too.

β β β β β It was my first time ordering the Kaminabe Zen after recommendation from the staff. It was a great choice for lunch. Unlike most Japanese eateries, it would be nice if they could serve some iced water especially with our humid climate.
