I ordered the 2 pax set for $36, and thought with the starters which included two gyozas, miso soup, a salad, green tea, the dons would be a steal. The seafood used in the signature chirashi don wasn't very fresh, and the mentaiko kaisen don was drowned in sauce. The restaurant was not that crowded but the waitress forgot our gyozas and had to be reminded. Maybe we caught them on an off day but I won't be returning for a second visit.

Delightful Don bowls of Japanese seafood on rice. Tried the signature Kei Kaisen , Aburizal Mentaiko and Unagi. Added an order of my favourite Ikura (salmon roe). Sets of two comes with bundle of miso soup, boiled gyoza and salad. Get the regular size because the small ones are going to be tiny for most people. Food is good. The tables are kid sized though. I guess that’s the sacrifice to get reasonable priced good food. Don’t mind coming back to visit or try out their other branches.

Reasonably priced food for the portion and quality is normal. Taste is also average. Some dishes were too heavy on the sauces and I’ll skip the gyozas. Don’t serve beers or alcoholic beverages and service is not great. Quite a few better Japanese options in the mall that I’d rather try instead of this place as I find it pretty average.

Should’ve followed the previous review and stay clear of this place. Was shoo’ed by the old lady waiter when I queued on the line on the floor and had to queued outside. Then she rudely shoved me away when I was about to order at the counter without mentioning she would come to take our order. Took 2 person set for $40 something after having difficulties ordering with the aunty who thought I was too dumb to understand the menu. Food came fairly quickly. Nothing special. Prawn was watery. Looks unappetizing. No refill on the tea. Quickly paid and leave. Old lady didn’t even bother to say thank you.

One of the worst don bowls I've ever had - and it's not an overstatement. My husband tried to warn me of the low food quality here, but I made a long walk to the shop after reading reviews and thought my husband was dramatic (he was not), so I chose to proceed with orders. I ordered cooked food to be safe - unagi bowl which is hard to go wrong. But never in my mind I could imagine that they DO NOT use Japanese rice for a don bowl - it was some normal Thai rice (slim and little long vs. round and fluffy) beneath the unagi patch instead. Most of people around us left the rice uneaten - and so did I (forgot to take a photo of the rice only as proof). The unagi was good, in quite generous portion for the price. The sides are cheap, but not recommended for the raw dishes as I found them unfresh - like the super cheap $3.9 ikura and hotate, gave my stomach a little rumble. I don't know man, if you can accept the non-Japanese rice don, then can give it a try and make your own judgement. 1 bowl of unagi rice and all the side dishes in the photos below came up to be $42 bill (with GST and service charge). I won't say it's cheap after all, especially with the dissatisfying taste.

Was surprised at the small bowl tat came for $22. However it was topped with plenty of ingredients. It was fresh to me. Just feels tat they tried to top as much things as possible, not everyone wld like their presentation..

Messy chef’s counter top and ugly decor makes the place look unsightly and uninviting. The only reason we ate here was because we were in a hurry and there was a queue everywhere else during lunch time and it’s almost empty here. Ever asked why? It won’t matter if this was a mall food court or hawker centre but you are charging restaurant prices. So please clean up your place and make it presentable. There is no excuse. Your saving grace was the auntie’s polite and enthusiastic service. Food was ok. Plating and presentation can be improved. You are a restaurant for goodness sake so present yourself like one.

Quite consistent with the other reviews here. 2 stars is the max I could give this place for the quality of the fish used. We were the only table at that time and I ordered the bowl with the mentaiko sauce, and was extremely disgusted how they flooded it with the sauce making it almost impossible to finish. They also got my order wrong the first time. For then price (18.90 for mine I think) I would've expected a better quality bowl.
