★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pipping hot, smokey wok hei, lotsa egg and cai poh, delicious chili sauce. The black version seems to be done less sweet (soya sauce). Still a Good plate.
Lady boss works hard at the wok and is very friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is my favourite CTK! Would strongly recommend getting the black one which has a good balance of sweetness and saltiness. Each piece of carrot cake is soft with a crispy exterior. Be prepared to queue for around 20 minutes during lunch time.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fantastic plate of fried carrot cake. The eggs are still moist yet well seasoned. There's also good synergy between the egg, sauce and carrot cake, which is not common at many places nowadays. It's also only $3 for a plate.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ordered mixed carrot cake which has half white and the other half black carrot cake. Lady boss is very friendly and attentive to individual’s order. This carrot cake comes with wok hei. Overall is good but family find that the black carrot cake is overpowered by the sweet sauce….

Quietly serving up heaping plates of carrot cake for over 30 years.

Each plate is fried with preserved radish / chye poh, garlic, vegetable oil, and egg. Their carrot cake has both soft and crispy bits throughout, yum.

The white version has good textures then, with a pronounced smoky savoury sweet eggy spice flavour, though I understand this can be inconsistent sometimes.

Most agree the black version is better here, the addictive smoky sweet savoury eggy spice flavour being a stand-out.
