Claypot Chicken Rice. An acquired taste dish for me or it could just be that I have never really had good ones growing up. While its not considered fast in terms of comparing with other hawker food serving speed, but you know this is worth the wait.

1 of my favorite places to have claypot rice. They debone the chicken so you donโ€™t have to deal with small bits of bone fragments in your rice, you can add extra chicken, salted fish, lupcheong or even salted egg, they complement it with nice Chinese soups and you can order a plate of ๆฒน่œ as well. Waiting time is long due to traditional cooking process (but they use gas fire rather than charcoal fire) so youโ€™re strongly recommended to order in advance via phone. The best part is the crispy rice bits at the bottom of the pot!

Solid bowl of claypot rice ($6 for 1 pax). However, be prepared to wait around 20 mins? If not I think there is a possibility to call in advance to order before coming down. The rice was soft and fluffy with a good amount of charred bits. I love the generous portions of chicken that is chunky and extremely tender. Dip them in the chilli sauce for an extra spicy and sourish kick that elevates this dish to another level. Good mix of lup cheong and salted fish as well. Will definitely have another bowl of this another day!

The hype is real. Unbelievably good. Fluffy rice, generous chunky tender chicken. Occasional surprise of salted fish and lup cheong. Can't get enough. Every mouthful full of goodness. Chilli real kick. Expect minimum 30min wait. Cashless payment acceptable.

Chicken Claypot Rice($6) Chicken is tender and delicious. Rice is okay with a little chao ta bits meaning good to see it. Comes with vege, lup cheong and salted fish. Overall, damn salty till will cause kidney failure. The dark sauce quite little for still okay. Salted fish too tok Kong alr. If less salty, more dark sauce, will be great.

Had this claypot rice for dinner at 9pm and it was delicious. It came with thick chunks of chicken, paid extra for another portion of chinese sausages and it came with a very generous serving of rice! The salted fish once broken up and mixed properly, takes the dish to a whole new mouthwatering level. Added extra dark soy sauce since thatโ€™s how I love my Claypot Rice. This claypot rice is slightly different from the ones I usually haveโ€ฆit has a less charred taste but also extremely good. Oh and the auntie was also very nice!

Taste-wise, Ok. Be prepared to wait a good 20mins for your food. Claypot rice 1pax (7/10) Imagine a very simple bowl of white, fluffy rice with chicken chunks, chinese sausage, salted fish, green leafy vegetables (kailan) topped with sweet black sauce. There is quite a fair bit of chicken which is tender and juicy. Remember to mix up the salted fish for extra flavour. While there is nothing terrible about this dish, it wouldnโ€™t satisfy your claypot rice cravings if you are looking for the crispy burnt bits of charred rice, and smoky fragrance.

Taste good. Not too salty and blended well with the salt fish. Chicken is tender. The Green vegetable makes it perfect. Ordered for one person but not many priced pieces of meat. Will try the 2 persons portion next round.
