97 Nasi Lemak

I bought it during lunch time at about 1.45pm and there was no queue. It cost $3.70. I was disappointed with the quality of the food. The chicken wing did not meet my expectation. It was tiny and not much meat. It was an ordinary Nasi Lemak. I won’t be returning anytime soon until they pull up their socks.

Rice is fluffy and well cooked, did not have enough coconut milk fragrance. Chicken wing is tender n juicy with a thin batter, more spices needed as it was under marinated. Curry veg was soft and tender. Chilli was sweet, savoury with a slight kick. The suace for the chilli egg tasted suspiciously like a bottle sweet thai chili sauce you can find in the supermarket. Maybe they need more time to improve, definately have the potential to be a solid plate of Nasi Lemak!

Maybe I came on a wrong day. The nasi was mushy and not lemak enough. The chilli is a good mix of sweet and spicy - though those who want more of a kick may be disappointed. This would be what I put as an average nasi lemak...

Nice and homely beehoon at reasonable prices. Great variety of dishes. Satisfies your craving for Singaporean beehoon or nasi lemak!

Everytiime I'm here with Ong, is always either wanton noodle, lor Mee or the Hong Kong Roast. So I was really surprised when he queued up for nasi Lemak. The photo was taken by him while queuing for the food. Apparently this stall just opened not too long ago. I didn't have the chance to take photo of the nasi Lemak. He bought rendang chicken nasi Lemak and curry chicken nasi Lemak but ill just focus on the fundamentals. Rice fragrant and fluffy. Chill sweet and spicy. Ikan bills flavorful and crunchy. Otah was delicious. The dish hits all the right spots. I find the chicken a bit too dry but to me it is not part of the criteria. So I'm happy to have another reason to visit old airport road FC.

Fragrant coconut jasmine rice, soft and fluffy. Running yolk egg though edges can be more crispy. Lightly marinated deep fried chicken wing but borderlined on greasiness. Very well simmered curry veg, flavorful and tender. Nicely cooked lady fingers with good spicy kick. Kuning fish is a let down as meat very dry. Sambal chilli leans towards sweetness and too well blended like a sauce. Crunchy ikan bilis but with stale oil after taste. Overall, a very decent nasi lemak at very acceptable price point.

Delicious fragrant fluffy rice with great sambal! We took the chicken cutlet set for $3.90 and added vege, more ikan bilis and an otah, making it $6.30. Will definitely be back again!

Newly opened stall by locals, at Old Airport Road Market. Rice was very light and fluffy, with slight taste of coconut milk flavour. Sambal chilli was a little bit spicy with a sweet after taste. Chicken cutlet was well marinated, had a crispy exterior, while retaining its tendery meat inside. Most importantly, their prices were reasonably priced and wallet friendly. ?
