01/07: Bought a travel insurance from Allianz however due to my travel duration changed, Emailed support on 28/06 & called in on 1/7 to check whether it is possible to extend the coverage to cover the entire trip. Do note that the trip has not started at this point. CSO feedback not able to do any changes to existing policy as the 14days cooling period has lapsed. CSO also feedback that buying a 2nd travel insurance to cover later part of the trip is not valid. Strange decision from Allianz as I’m prepared to top up the premium difference or find a way to make it work. Requested to talk to his manager but there is no manager on duty, so either this company is pathetic in staffing or CSO lied. Do expect of at least 20-30mins waiting time before you are connected to a CSO. 04/07: Received a verbal and written confirmation that it is possible to buy another travel insurance (same plan/destination/party) to cover the 2nd part of the trip.

Horrible claim process. False advertising saying they will reply you within 10 business days. False promises of 24hr turn around when called up to enquire. Phone wait times of 90mins if not cut off. Why did SQ partner with them for ticket purchase? Disgusting.

Purchased travel insurance as an add-on for my booking on SIA. Subsequently I had to postpone my trip as the country I was visiting imposed travel restrictions for Singaporeans. However Allianz refused to allow us to change the date of coverage or refund us the amount paid, as the coverage had already started. While I acknowledge that I had been partly responsible for forgetting to inform them early (due to the stress of having to rearrange all my travel plans and bookings last minute), the customer service was also unhelpful and was not willing to render any assistance. 1. The customer service officer told us that the policy was separate from the SIA travel booking, however we purchased it as an add-on on the SIA website, so why are we not allowed to change the date of coverage to cover the new travel dates? 2. We were also blamed for not reading the policy wording properly, however they did NOT send any policy document to us after we bought the policy. 3. We also requested to the CSO to speak to a higher authority to explain our case further but the CSO refused to do so and pressured us to write in via email instead. We did so and there was no reply, even though the auto-reply promised a response within 7 business days. TL;DR Do not buy your travel insurance with Allianz as their customer service is appalling. You will have a hard time claiming anything from them.

This company makes it easy to buy insurance but next to impossible to claim any insurance money!!! I have a Covid related claim pending with them for 2.5 months now! I have submitted all the large amounts of required documents, emailed them 4-5 times to follow up, called 4 times and the customer service rep who finally answers promises to take action…but. NOTHING yet!! Really ridiculous experience.

So, this was the second time I had to use roadside assistance in the last 3 months. My car broke down at around 2 pm and I called them within the next few minutes. I was on hold for a few minutes but they sent me a mechanic within an hour. It was a bit of a struggle on my end not gonna lie, but they fixed it in the end, no hitches. Excellent customer service! And the fast arrival of the mechanic was just a cherry on top. I thought I needed a tow, but turned out I didn't!

Bought travel insurance from Allianz for our trip in April and unfortunately had to make a medical bill claim. It has been 50 days since we have submit the claims - already exceeding the Service Level Agreement of 30-45 days and when I called their CS, they said there is no status update and will write an internal email to expedite. They cannot copy policy holders on the mail - who knows whether the said mail actually went out. You blame COVID-19 for the delay, we are already transitioning into the 'New Normal' and you still blame covid?? Maybe it is time for you to relook into your SLA, and to approve my travel claims!!

Strongly suggest those who are considering Allianz to read their policy wordings carefully. Unlike other insurance companies, Allianz will not reimburse your medical expenses incurred in Singapore, if you did not seek medical treatment during your trip abroad to begin with. I sought treatment at a local GP on the very same morning I reached Singapore but my claim was declined because of the above mentioned reason. For travel insurance provided by others, they will payout as long as you get medical treatment in Singapore within two to three days upon your return to Singapore. So lesson learnt and no more Allianz for me.

Bought a travel insurance to cover the excess of vehicle rental whilst overseas. Unfortunately, I need to make a claim and submitted the necessary documents in their online portal. Processing takes a very long time and calls made to their customer service were of little use. They couldn’t even check my claims even after telling them tons of personal data for verification. I have no idea when I will get my claim done. Lesson learnt, don’t get involved in an accident overseas and don’t buy policies from Allianz.
