Dr serving here is very rude and impatient. Not too sure if the rest of doctors the same. at least the Dr/consultant named Dr Chok was very impatient and rude to the patient.

The original Endoscopy Centre located at Block 6 level 2 is now for inpatients only. All outpatients or elective cases are now channeled to this newly opened AEC / GIFU at Block 3 Level 1 (adjacent to the Pharmacy) for their day surgeries. It could be due to some technical problems, or responsibity issues, lockers are available but patients are disallowed to use it by the Management. Thus, after registration, upon entering into the Changing Area, patients would need to put all their personal belongings (including clothing of course) into a huge & thick plastic bag provided by the hospital. It'll then be fastened with a cable tie (nicely designed nylon fastener) by the attending nurse at the Pre Procedure cubicle (reminds me of Mustafa Shopping Centre.) That's not the end of it. Patients need to hand carry the said bag from the Waiting Area all the way into the Surgery Suites and finally to the Recovery Bay after the scope was performed. All in all, the sole purpose is to make you responsible for your own personal belongings throughout that few hours stay in the Centre. According to one of the nurses I've spoken to, these bags could not be reused due to personal hygiene issue & it seems the Management is fully aware of this negative feedback received from other unhappy patients regarding the locker matter. Besides all the inconveniences, I find this bag option impractical, and it is not environmentally friendly. Also, it is an extra financial burden to the hospital, as well as to the patients' pockets, I think. Really hope this new Centre can find a better way to resolve this locker issue. Front line nursing staff in this Centre are respectful, understanding & attentive. Excellent!

Block 3 Level 1, Ambulatory Endoscopy Centre (AEC) is all the way in, on the left, of Specialist Outpatient Clinics. The process seems the same since 4 years ago as described by @KennyChua. After the scan, I woke up with the sealed plastic bag on the bed near my feet area, so it seems a proven fail-safe process after all. I brought the bag home, useful to fill stuff for the Blue Recycling Bin! The frontline staff are friendly and helpful. They have to handle patients of all ages, races, varying conditions and background. Not easy, so keep up the good work! And thank you Dr Ong HS for the smooth procedure!
