DO NOT THINK ABOUT GOING TO AUSTRALIA AS A TOURIST unless you are holding a passport which qualifies you for their ETA service. Horrible staff members. For lack of better words I’m forced to call them racist. Firstly they have delegated all their visa application processes to VSF. Charges you $140 every time for visa application. $50 for service fee (which you wouldn’t have to pay if you had it been done by the embassy itself). Further more, they require you to pay $32 for walk in application which you are forced to do cause otherwise they would take forever to book you an appointment. Keeps rejecting your visa without proper explanation. DO NOT GIVE YOU the rights to question the reason for rejection. They did however mention I do not provide sufficient information in regards to the incentive I have to return to Singapore. I am a Singapore PR who is about to be a citizen. Been here for most of my life and even served the country 2years. Yet all these are not β€œproof” enough for them. When asked via email, ignored all emails. Only states that you should apply for visa again but they do not refund you the money. I’m forced to believe they are in cahoots with VSF to make some easy money for themselves. Even their own citizens hates this embassy. Absolutely disgusting people.

Certainly don't make things easy to renew passports. Inconsistent depending on who you get. Make sure you have everything needed and photos are millimetre perfect... And use their recommended photo lab at Tanglin. They don't make all of the rules, but have to say, needing citizenship and birth certificates for a passport renewal which you needed for the original passport, makes no sense. Photos that are too small also make no sense as they scan the photos and print them onto the passport pages in Australia anyway. Let's hope they move this over to a digital process as paper process is archaic.

Unbelievably rude staff, plus very difficult procedures. I am an Australian citizen, born in Australia currently residing in Singapore. I needed to get my Australian passport renewed. First of all you can only visit during work hours Mon-Fri which already makes it inconvenient. Second, they do not accept soft copies and demand original certificates. This is prehistoric, why can’t they make things digital it would be so much easier for us and for them! The service received was terrible. The lady was very rude and made things complicated. Highly reccomend they train their staff better. It paints a bad image for our country which has extremely kind and friendly people to be represented these people.

Different from some of the review before. I had good service from entering the secueity gate to the counter who serve my passport renew. For those who think they have correct photo, officer will ask you to be prepare to submit the digital version in case still get rejected from Australia side. Make sure you get digital version when taking the photos, just in case.

Told me that I will need to settle on VISA issues myself when it has been approved and I am just asking for additional COVID related queries before booking a flight there which is not in the website. Unprofessional receptionist that do not provide any solutions, don't waste your time calling in if don't even bother to provide information to travel to your country.

Architecture is 60s utilitarian on the outside, like an engineering block common of Australian universities, uninspired. Decor is very modern Australian, similar to the soulles Australian governmental atmosphere of the Canberra mother ship. Staff were nice and prompt, no complaints there; came during a quiet period though.

We'll as of early 2019 there was a tiresome and unecessarily difficult system as per passport renewal. To be honest I don't know if it was specifically the officer concerned or what but had to get photo's taken three times! Why? Because the quality wasn't good enough?! Ok well why don't you have a photo booth inside the Embassy instead of making people book appointment after appointment just to get the right lighting on the photos for god's sake!? No resources!? Really? I mean the place is huge and feels like a ghost town, you could have a photo booth, coffe stall, sell auzzie beer to lighten the mood as everyone gets stressed when going to the Embassy, especially the security guards btw the lady in the foyer seems ready to jump out of her skin maybe some stand up comedy too? Seriously though the staff were actually quite nice, they're tight with times so arrive early.
