Chef China 华厨 - 101 Beach Rd

This is my 2nd visit. Loved the food, esp the grilled lamb ribs and laziji. Their skewers also good and cheap. Staff were friendly. Went on Sunday afternoon, not as crowded as dinner time the last time I was there. They only accept reservation for 4 pax and above. Will be back for the lamb and laziji plus other dishes again.

Surprised this newly opened shop is only 3.4 star but I can tell you firmly it deserves minimum 4 star for its ambience, food and warm customer service by the store manager. She patiently advised us on the dishes given 2 pax and offered us barley drink FOC. We came here to try cause fiancée saw this on one of the to do list for 好吃好玩 group. Space shutter and astronauts theme in this outlet. I heard at evening there will be astronaut going around to take photos with diners. The food we ordered you can check out the photos, the gong bao prawn (although imo is expensive for its portion) but its dry ice effect is very new and awesome experience for us to take photo. The tofu w soup is defent while we ordered la zi ji. I told the store manager next time I will get more friends so that we can order the hotpot and bbq items, i will definitely try its steamed chicken w chilli oil (kou shui ji) direct translate saliva chicken. Lol, $10 only. Anyway there is a photo booth for you to take as if you went up the space although it is just visuals, young kids maybe fascinated. Nice authentic Chinese Northeast cusine. Nicely decorated space With clean setup. Waiters/waitress are attentive. Nice food，slightly salty (that's how chinese food are... i guess..)Average cost per pax SGD35. Grills are my favourite. You get lucky drawl chance if u spend above SGD60. we got free Frog for the next 6 months if spend SGD50 and above.. (one free order each month). will return... and hope standard maintains....

Finally visited @chef_china_sg (Bugis). 1st thoughts: ~ Shop in reality is really small compared to the videos we see online. ~ Assumed that the food serving would be small but serving was generous. Told by some friends we might only be able to sit there for an hour, but I guess we were lucky, there was no time restriction. ? So we ordered the $42.80 lunch set that came with 2 main courses and 1 vegetable. Each of us gets a FOC cup of home-made barley too. We ordered 毛鱼旺(Mix) ? ? ? ? ? 红烧肉 ? ? 土豆 ? 白饭 ? 薏米水(免费供应) Potato and barley are quite tasteless. But suits the kid. We love the level of mala-ness and the taste of everything was great for us. The mix pot contains a mix of everything, including squid and some veggies. We don’t eat squid so we left that untouched. Already decided that we will try out the 酸菜 on our next visit. #下一站幸福 #找不到店名 A few steps ahead led us to a small but cosy dessert shop where we enjoyed a yummy $6.80 banana ? split. Icecream ? came in 3 flavors. We totally adore their 丝袜奶茶 & sesame 汤圆, immersed in ginger soup! All of us are definitely overjoyed by the kid’s surprise find. Food here are below average. After the meal they asked for feedback and I given my feedback. To my very surprise they waived charges for the dish that I don’t like. Kudos and hopes that they improve as it seems that they really mean business. May come back after a few months to try again.

I believe this restaurant previously served Mala Hotpot, but now they changed to Sichuan and Northern china cuisine, 来撸串呗！ Food serving is fast, portion is generous ? Price is acceptable for restaurant around Bugis. Will definitely visit again!

Warning: SPICY. Even their mild spice is quite spicy so take note. 辣子鸡 is da bomb, eat until tongue numb but still continue eating. 蛙蛤蛤 (bullfrog and clams) is also super spicy but super good if you like bullfrogs, portion is quite big also. The place is supposedly famous for its skewers, which we felt was okok, but they come with a little stove so your food will always be warm. The 酸菜鱼 fish hotpot came with a super generous amount of fish. Definitely worth a try. Pretty affordable and tasty (SPICY!) Chinese food with big portions. Delicious umami food would pair extremely well with beer. Decor was interesting also. Forgot to take photos this time. Will come back again next time with more friends and order alcohol.

My first dining experience here, really love their food! They have a great variety of choices (cold / hot dishes and bbq skewers) that are truly delicious and flavourful. Also, the pricing of the dishes are very reasonable; good quality and generous portion. The servers were attentive and enthusiastic too. ? Thumbs up Chef China! I will definitely visit again!
