โ โ โ โ โ Tried the fried hokkien mee when the stall first opened and the pao fan yesterday. The owner was friendly but, unfortunately, I found both items rather mediocre. The hokkien mee was bland. The rice is somewhat the wet version of the noodles - it contained exactly the same ingredients (eg. pork belly, sotong and prawns) and lacked the subtle taste of seafood freshness in its broth. Overall, value for money as the amount of ingredients were generous. The prawns were sweet too.

โ โ โ โ โ What is wrong with these extreme rating here? A bit subpar give 1 stars, no review give 5 stars. I takeaway the hokkien mee on 05 Oct 2021 to test AFTER having a light dinner. The taste is there, the freshest of the ingredients are well managed. The chilli is good. But the noodle are soggy. I didnt know got fried lard if not i would have asked not to put. But obviously if you take away, it will be soft.
The takeaway container is plastic or else those leaves wrap will not be able to hold the wet noodle. Got good and bad.
Suggest for Chef Goo to focus fewer menu. Just paste a sold out sign. Those subpar stuff will just irritate people if you cannot get consistency. So what do you want to be known for?
Suggest just add slightly different menu to foodpanda, one without sotong or something. It is a dumb requirement.

โ โ โ โ โ After so much hyped, I tried the $6 hokkien mee. The prawns were really fresh! Other than that it was a below par performance. Noddles were soggy and and the pork lard was so โLao Hongโ that i spat it out. No hint of wok hei and flavour at all. Sorry the chef got it all wrongโฆ??โโ๏ธ??โโ๏ธ??โโ๏ธ
Visited the stall at the end of June 2021. As Hokkien mee lover, Maybe i will try again 3months later. To confirm whether my first attempt was a fluke. Will edit the stars accordingly.

โ โ โ โ โ Only began to appreciate Hokkien Mee after trying Chef Goo's. Delicious! Today, tried his Lump Crab fried rice. Generous amount of crab & egg... rice very fragrant & not oily at all. Great price for the quality of food. Brought my girlfriends to try the Hokkien Mee today and both say it is the best they have ever had - both love their Hokkien Mee, so they know good Hokkien Mee when they taste it. Highly recommend Chef Goo's

โ โ โ โ โ Tried the fried hokkien prawn mee, not too bad. Portion was great, but considering the fact that's its $6.80 at a hawker ctr, it's about right.
Taste was alright, not too bad, but nothg to shout abt.
Service was OK and place was easy to get a seat at 3pm.
Can try if around the vicinity, otherwise no need for a special trip to Alexandra.

โ โ โ โ โ Ordered K wings, taste and texture cmi as thereโs no batter to make it crispy and chicken is just dipped in sauce and not tossed in a wok or something. Although the meat was cooked, it was cold in the middle and the meat didnโt taste fresh in general. Suspect the โchefโ just takes out pre-cooked chicken from the fridge. Want to take shortcuts at least heat it up properly if you want to call yourself a chef

โ โ โ โ โ I have no idea why there are negative reviews. Seriously? Look at the amount of ingredients (lots of squid and pork slices and "la-pork") and both the Hokkien mee and Pao Fan were delicious. $5 and $5 only. Chef Goo, ignore the negative comments and keep going. My kids both enjoyed your food.

โ โ โ โ โ Tried the fried hokkien noodle last week. Chance upon this stall last week when i was exploring Alexandra village hawker centre. Noticed that there a queue and decided to join in to try out the food since there wasn't much stalls open. there was at least 5 pax infront of me, mainly for takeaway. Apart from fried hokkien mee, they also sell fried rice and pao fan. Price for the hokkien mee starts from SGD$5.30 for the smallest portion.
the fried hokkien mee came with ingredient like squid, pork belly slices and 2 whole ang kar prawns, and they tasted fresh. The hokkien mee is the wetter type. Personally find it too wet, could perhaps reduce the stock because it was too wet for my liking. Taste wise, it was okay, however feel that the taste is missing something. Perhaps could improve on the seasoning.
Overall, the fried hokkien noodle was not bad but there is room for improvement!
