Ordered a large one $6.50 to share with my wife. Both of us find it nice and delicious and uniquely to see a layer of thick gravy on top of the laksa. For the large size, you definitely get more ingredients (prawns, sliced fish cake and hums) than the smaller size (read from other reviewers that they got only 2 hums). Of course want hums because it costs $3 more to add them! I heard the laksa used to be served in a claypot. Probably easier and more economical to use plastic bowls instead. Overall I think itโ€™s still quite delectable. Never try, never know how it tastes like.

To be honest.. it tastes more like curry noodle than laksa. Not memorable as a laksa.. and I guess the word hum is used as a singular. Auntie: "Want Hum?" Me: "Yes." Scouring through the (small order) bowl.. I counted 2. I imagine if I did not want hum.. would I get 2 slices of fishcake as replacement..? Or..? "Hey did you see hum?" "Yea I saw 2."

06/05/22 Thick gravy was poured over cooked noodles. Need to mix it well so that the soup has an even taste. It has lesser coconut milk and more curry flavour compared KT laksa. Overall not bad.

The Laksa gravy at this MICHELIN Bib Gourmand Laksa is especially thick and rich, it is super โ€œlemakโ€ as a large spoonful of thick Laksa paste is added on top the serving. It has been so good that it has maintained its listing on MICHELIN every year since 2016. The delicious Laksa comes with shrimps and chicken; and priced from $4.00 for a small bowl. Expect a 15-30 minute queue, longer on weekends. Over the years, some other good Laksa stalls have come to challenge what this used to be the best Claypot Laksa in town. Notice they have dropped the โ€œclaypotโ€ as it is no longer served in claypots although that was where it made its reputation.

Laksa not bad, esp the thick paste they added on top of the soup, flavorful. Love the laksa leaf scent so much.

Stall was renowned for serving piping hot laksa in a claypot. Seemed to have lost its charm as they don't serve the dish in a claypot nowadays. Taste like any other laksa you can get in a random hawker centre - although it's still decent.

#01-75 Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Laksa A long time shop at their original spot at Depot Road, Depot Road Zhen Shan Mei Laksa used to be well known for serving their Laksa in a mini claypot. However, they have switched to serving without the claypot for some years now. A flavourful dish, it hits the right spot on a cool day. The generous serving and rich laksa base makes it a wonderful dish. Sadly, without the wow factor, it is still undecided if this shop is deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand. General Verdict: Long queue for good Laksa. Good to eat but not worth a special visit just for it. Opening Hours: Daily 9am to 3:30pm (Closed on Sundays and Mondays) Queue Situation: Very long queue formed even before business starts. Expect to wait between 20mins to 40mins to place your order Payment Mode: Cash, Local Internet Banking by QR code or AMEX (Singapore) Pay Is this worth a try? Yes Is it worth making a trip just to try it? Unlikely Is this worthy of the Michelin Bib Gourmand Singapore Award? Undecided Item Ordered: 1) Item: Laksa - Coconut curry and seafood savoury base with noodles or thick bee hoon Description: Tasty Laksa dish that lacks the WOW factor from their claypot days Verdict: Good, Can Order Price: SG$4/5/6 (S/M/L)

Cool drizzling afternoon lead me to Alexandra Village for a hot pot of laksa. To my surprise, they are no longer serving their laksa in claypots. Nevertheless, ordered a medium ($5.50) bowl with extra noodles (+$0.50). The soup is the same as creamy as before. So far, I think their laksa soup is the thickest locally. Let me know if you find any thicker laksa soup. Taste wise, maybe due to not being served in a claypot, the laksa aroma and flavour seem to be not so strong as before. My bowl of laksa was also quite salty but the big fresh cockles made up for it. Overall, standard dropped slightly from before but would still recommend to anyone in that area craving for laksa at noon.
