Chirashi King Kong

2nd time at Chirashi King Kong. Some negative points about King Kong: 1. Fish isn't fresh 2. Not using Japanese rice, or if using short grain rice, is probably lower grade one. 3. Though price isnt expensive, I find that their pricing doesn't commensurate with quality Chirashi King Kong is more "fusion-styled" type of chirashi, and probably won't appeal to the traditionalists. For the old school Chirashi lovers, alternatives like Ootoya and Sakuraya (not my favourite though) are better.

Finally somewhere near my neighborhood .. Fresh n the rice taste so good .. Assorted bowl n Salmon Mentaiko Bowl ..? will definitely go again..

[✨NEW OUTLET✨] Good news for westies ? Famous for their affordable truffle rice bowls, @chirashikingkong is now available in the West! We visited the new outlet at sunset way today on their opening weekend. ? ?????? ???????? ???? ($??.??) With a layer of torched mentaiko sauce and aburi salmon, this is a must try for mentaiko lovers! The signature truffle rice is mixed with fish roe for a burst of flavour in every bite. Enjoyed the marinated jellyfish too! ? ???????? ???? ($??.??) Limited bowls daily, the sliced rib eye beef bowl came topped with an onsen egg (see story for satisfying egg ooze) ? Swipe for menu ? Overall, @chirashikingkong is known for their Japanese rice bowls that comes at wallet-friendly prices and they didn't disappoint! As a westie, I'm glad that they finally opened an outlet at this side of the island for a more convenient chirashi hunt? New outlet in the west. Best dish of the night goes to the aburi salmon spaghetti. The truffle pasta is so flavourful and accompanied with nicely torched salmon with mentaiko sauce, it’s so good! Don’t skip this dish if you are dining here!

Satisfying Bb's occasional sashimi cravings at Chirashi King Kong's latest outlet at Sunset Way (Yay to westies!) @chirashikingkong! Packed with salmon, tuna, swordfish and more, the ???????? ???? ($16.90) is a sushi lover's dream with its reasonably thick-cut slices of sashimi sitting atop the truffle-infused rice! The seafood was generally fresh and of good quality for the price point. The mild truffle flavour from the rice didn't overwhelm the sweetness of the seafood slices, and the pop from the tobiko + the light savoury flavour of the furikake added a nice touch. ? . ?
