One of the most underrated stalls at Hong Lim! Whenever I want a taste of home, I always come here for their handmade "sotong" (squid) balls, fish balls & meat balls. It reminds me of my grandma's cooking. It has the 古早味 There was once I saw the auntie fished out flower crab ? amongst other things from their broth. No wonder their soup is so flavorful! The stall is only open from Mon to Thurs, 10am to 230pm cos they spend the next 3 days making all the sotong, fish, meat balls by hand and prep all the condiments as well. In this day and age where pre-made food items can be easily bought from suppliers, this dedication and effort to their food is admirable.

Mixed Soup (Sotong Ball, Fishball, Minced Pork Ball and Fish Dumpling Soup). Here's a hawker food that is rarely seen (I only know of two locations in Singapore that served this thus far), Their individual items are really good but its signature is their sotong ball and (probably?) pork balls, the balls also help give the cloudy soup its unique taste.

This famous stall is always long queue during lunch hours. But their sotongball soup is definitely worth the wait! Their fresh sotong balls seafood soup comes with the choice of 3 sizes, and different noodles type/ rice selection.

It is special only because it is probably the only stall in Singapore that sells sotong balls, which tasted not much different from those frozen ones that can be bought off the shelves. The meatballs were mushy, the fish dumplings were so thin that they disintegrated and the fishballs were missing. The soup was not particularly fragrant but still left my tongue begging for water as if I have been attacked by MSG bomb. The staff serving customers was friendly though. E-payment was available too.

Ordered a large portion of the soup, which cost $7.50 in late Jun 2022. Didn't really find anything special about the sotong balls or meatballs, but if I was working in the area, I might order this maybe once every 2 weeks because it offers variety to the usual hawker fare that are commonly sold elsewhere. Ordering can also get a bit chaotic when the regulars come, place their orders and leave without being part of the queue.

Beautifully hand made. Non starchy, tender n full of flavour. Soup is made with fish bones, clear broth with natural sweetness. Best eaten with rice separate, so no change to the natural flavours of the soup.

There’s a reason for the daily long queue. They are willing to give ingredients. Given the higher price range. The amount of ingredients is actually quite a lot. All the staff is very very friendly & accomodating. Highly recommended ??

Located in middle at the inner facing row on ground floor of Hong Lim Complex hawker center. The auntie boasts ‘hand-made everything’ in her soup, comprising fresh sotong balls, meat balls & fish dumplings. The soup tastes rich and you can see big chunks of fish bones in the pot. Overall a well balanced homey bowl with vegetables, daikon, topped with fried garlic. Yummy though a tad salty for my taste. Will try with plain rice next time. No msg aftertaste detected. So all good!
