Came here on a Wednesday night, my order was made fresh. It was a long wait, but it's my preferred Char Kway Teow so far. The noodles were mostly the wide, flat rice noodles. It was on the dry side. The sauce was salty and sweet. The experience of waiting at the front of the queuing, peeking over her shoulder as she prepares your order step-by-step was kind of nice.

OCD auntie manning the stall today. Frys her char kway teow a plate at a time and washes the wok after each serving. Long wait but nevertheless a really good CKT. Super simply well done. Not sickenly sweet. Salty hits from fish sauce. Chock full of wok hei. At $5, it's a little pricey though Consume immediately. Doesn't do well when turned cold.

Best char kway teo in the area by far. Not sure why this place has such a bad rating. The quality of the food is up there for hawker food. Serious wok hey. My only negative comment is because only 1 person cooks here and they cook single portions only, the queue can be very slow. Today someone ordered 5 packs in front of me and that means another 15mins waiting. If its open and queue is very short, give it a go. You won't regret.

Char Kway Teow (SGD $5) @ Dong Ji Fried Kway Teow. . Uncle Teng has been serving for well over 40 years, frying each order one at a time. . Known for being generous with ingredients, their version is also a little more premium than elsewhere, with crisp garlic chives, bouncy squid rings, and juicy deshelled prawns within. . Also doesn't skimp on the wispy egg, crisp bean sprouts, chewy lup cheong / dried cured pork sausage, tender fish cake, and plump blood cockles. . The noodles carry decent wok hei / breath of the wok, and the dish is less greasy too. Bold smoky sweet savoury salty flavours here. Nice.

Not sure why all the 3 stars rating. I love my plate of CKT from this stall! Fragrant and wok hei gao gao… infused with hints of “hum” flavour. Just the kind of not so sweet CKT I like. Not too wet too, lovely. I was there around 6pm. Stall was manned by an old aunty. No queue and I got a rather big portion for $4. Definitely a better plate of CKT than the other famous one in the same HC… at least in my book.?

This stall was quite popular in this hawker centre. Q could be long if you visit during peak lunch hours. I been here 2 times, first was cook by an old man with quite a nice wok-hey finishing with 3 prawns, some seeham and slides of pork sausage and fish cake. Not bad, is quite flavourful. But today, I visited again and the stall is managed by a young lady, and the Q is still long as usual. So no doubt, I will expect the same good Char-Kway-Tiao I used to have. Unfortunately, the portion is smaller even I order the same $5 big plate. Lesser prawn, seeham, pork sausage n fish cake. And the wok-hey is not as good as it is before. Quite disappointing. Next time, I will see who handle the wok before I order. ?

Required extreme patient to eat here cos not only it's a one lady show who cooks every plate from scratch, she also seems distracted & unprepared and kept abandoning the wok halfway for other matters like replenishing the stocks & even washes the plates before returning to finishes the cooking. A 3-4 person queue could easily turn to an half hour wait. The CKT here were akin to Penang style rather than local as there are no cockles and yellow noodle which ironically was prominently indicated in their signage, and like penang style their CKT were full of wok-hei that includes freshly cooked prawns yet the abundance of wok hei does not make up for its overall lacking of flavour, esp obvious when halfway through where the remaining portion turns lukewarm.

Tried this stall for the first time on a Sunday afternoon. No queue. Quite a pathetic amount of ingredients in the $4 portion. Chilli was unevenly spread out. Served hot but lacks wok hei. No flavour from the dark sauce. Both CKT stalls at Old Airport Rd Food Centre have been a disappointment!
