They gave me a plate of what is essentially starch with minor flecks of egg interspersed within the huge blobs of starch. Furthermore I ordered it without oysters so basically paid $4 for a plate of starch. I specifically asked for less starch but it seem that they were intent on going against my order and said that they do not know how to cook it with less starch. So there you have it.

Value for money. Fragrant and not greasy. Slightly starchy. Very friendly owner. Can try bigger ones.

Rating: ?? #美食金 #jiak Famous Old Airport Fried Oyster @ 51 Old Airport Road # 01-54 Recommend: Oyster Omelette . Used to be ??? quality with fluffy eggs, juicy plump oysters and good mix of starch. Recently saw the change of stall owners, standard dropped a little, but still a worthy plate at $4. . ?More eggs than starch if you like ?Decent oysters with $4 order ?Chilli still gives the sour spicy kick

This has got to be one of the crispiest orh-luak I've ever had! What differentiates it from the rest of the orh-luak fraternity, I believe, is the batter they use. Strangely, it actually tastes like goreng pisang batter when i sunk my teeth into it. Oysters were big and portions were surprisingly generous. What you're looking at is the $4 version. Coupled with the super-friendly stall-owner and helper, this is definitely a go-to place for orh-luak for me. However, it somehow lacks the aromas of heated fish sauce you'd typically taste in an authentic orh-luak. For that, I'm holding back my one star in my rating. ?

Tried the squid or sotong oyster omelette. Flour was good but I thought the squid was a little tough. Snack sized portion good as a sharing tapas to be supplemented by main course.

Not the most suitable thing to pack for an half hour long journey but was craving for it. Liked the size of the oysters and the chili helps to cut down on the greasiness. Cravings satisfied. Thank you.

Cheap and good. $4 for this fried Oyster. Juicy and plumpy oyster with no weird taste. Starchy with slight crisp flour mixture. Savoury and eggy.

While we were at the Old Airport Road Centre for Prawn Noodles Dinner, we might as well walked around to check out what else were good. Our modus operandi was “spying” on what other diners were consuming on their tables and then checked out the stalls serving those food. Detected one good looking fried oyster stall with three ”solid” reviews pinned outside their stall. The Famous Old Airport Fried Otster. Since we did not have fried oysters for a while, wifey and I decided to give it a try. Ordered just the smallest serving of $4. The fried oyster tasted good. Though not ”crispy” as they claimed. We felt the starch content was excessive but actually the mixture with eggs was quite delicious. There were 6 pretty big oysters in the serving and topped with sufficient parsley. Hence, this $4 serving wasn’t too expensive. Wifey felt that we should try the egg omelette oysters (without starch) the next time.
