When I first tried it few weeks back, I thought the chicken and rice was good. I would have given 5 stars. Today I found it just average. The lotus root soup was described as salt water. Hence 3 stars.

You can smell the aroma of the chicken soup right after you enter the shop. Not very fancy in style, just like the old school chicken rice place in Singapore. The chicken is yellow in color. I think although it markets it as kampong chicken. The meat is not as solid as expected. Still recommend to try. Cheap and tasty.

The chicken here is rather unique compared to other kampung chicken. It's very fragrant, and the portions are larger than expected! Overall the price is low for kampung chicken, with 28 for a whole chicken. Give it a go! It may not be everyone's style, but some will love it! The soup is not my style but everything else is great.

How shall I describe this? This place lacks ambition. The shopkeeper barely looked up when you walked in. In fact, this place reminded me of those Wulin Assassin tucked in a most unexpected corner of the world. The uncompetitiveness was obvious from their fit out and the homely plates that housed their food, easily decades (or centuries) ago depending on your imagination. But you were unable to stop after your first bite. You were going to devour whatever you've ordered in less than 5 minutes, no matter how much you've ordered. It happened to me. It was as if i went into a trance or a most blissful dream that nothing could go wrong (no ill taste, no drama). Even a slice of tomato was heavenly. Imagine that! I tested my theory by scooping up as many slices of coconut meat from the coconut in front of me with the thinnest stainless steel spoon possible. Nope. I didn't mis-scoop a single slice! Remember how you always slipped or scooped too hard that your coconut dropped in reality? It didn't happen. This place WAS a dream.

Great food. Paid extra 50 cents for the takeaway soup, not worth it though.

Drove pass and save this chicken rice. So stop by for lunch. The place was deserted and we were the only table. Ordered from the man at the chicken counter... He didn't even say 1 word of acknowledgement. Food came. I think the meat is OK.. soft and tender.. Vegetable also OK... The salted fish steam mince pork is soft and good with food . Order drinks at the counter... The lady also no reply... Then later the pony tail chef bring the drinks come.. When they serve the food... Also never say what is what... All 4 employees.. Like a deaf mute cafe... Haha..
