Lad & Dad - 7 Tanjong Pagar Plaza

First time here during Friday lunchtime and place not is crowded. I feel this is a hidden gem for great fish & chips! Batter is not too oily and could taste the freshness of the Haddock fish they use. Besides the main dish, the sides of mashed peas and fries are superb as well! Mashed peas definitely doesn’t taste like the normal peas you eat so if you’re not a pea lover, don’t worry as I’m sure you’ll love this! Also ordered Onion Rings and Posh Fries (mashed beef and cheese over fries) which I must say are average so not a must have for me. Last but not least, get their Guinness on tap!

Frequently come here when I'm craving for a good english meal! Small but comfortable place to have a pint and a meal! The highlights are really the battered oysters, Fish & Chips (Don't forget the vinegar fir the fries!) & Beef stew! Its been a go to place for me when I have foreign friends since it suits their palate as well!

Food was good and priced very well. Fish and chips were very crispy, pea mash was well-seasoned (unlike bread street with their grassy pea mash and soggy batter on the fish lol), and tartar sauce was good. Beef stew was very flavourful and the meat was tender. Could do with more vegetables though. Scotch egg was done very well. Perhaps something to note or improve on: there were some fish bones in my fish which was quite unpleasant for a fish and chip, but besides this everything was great.

Here for early dinner and was eager to try their British fish and chip turns out not what I expected. Love the crunch but inside was bland. The pork sausage and mash potato was good. Onion rings, average.Prices are on the high side, paid nearly $90 for this 5dish.

Great place for fish and chips and beer. Ordered the fish and chips, beef stew and scotch eggs. Fish and chips was the standout, the batter was very crispy and well done, not too greasy as well. Beef stew mash was good, beef stew was pretty good. Scotch eggs were alright. Beer went well with the food. Service was good. Overall a pleasant experience.

Chanced upon this pub on a write up online and knew their fish and chips were to die for. Always looking for authentic and delicious F&C in town and I must say this did not fail my expectation. Batter was fried to crispness that maintained even after dish was eaten 45 minutes later at home. Fish inside was moist and fresh. Chips was still crispy but I think it should taste much better if eaten on the spot. Yes definitely my pick for F&C in Singapore. Not many can achieve that standard in Singapore I must say, even can beat a lot of others in Australia. Sausages in bangles and mash were super tasty. Definitely a must try as well. Mash was good with flavourful meat sauce. Can taste the beefiness in it and chef definitely has put a significant effort into creating this wonderful dish. Onion rings were normal but could not be nit pick as they were taken away and eaten only after 45 mins. Overall ????????. Price ??????. Well done Lad!

Walked into Lad & Dad on a Saturday afternoon for a quick lunch. Firstly, I loved the fact that they had a short menu to choose from and each item was unique from each other! We ordered the fish & chips, which was a hit with us and the Beef stew was cooked to perfection! For the price, the portioning was just right ? The location was perfect and the service was good! It was a quick lunch and dash. We'll be back!

Heard much about this place and it sure didn't disappoint. The fish and chips was really top notch - from the light and crispy batter to the chunky moist fish beneath; also, the fries were nicely crisp and flavoured. Then there's that delicious stew - so flavorful, buttery and rich, with chunks of beef that kinda melt to bits in your mouth (and the carrots too, which I really like). In fact, I think I'd have a hard time deciding which of the two I like more, since I'm a fish and chips fan who's also quite fond of stew. ? Overall it's a very hearty and satisfying meal. Much recommended. ??
