Having a piping hot and flavorful soup is a perfect meal for a rainy weekend. Simple and soul-filling food. Do ask for a soup top-up.

Totally not impressed that 4 out of the 10 soup is not available on a Saturday night. Wonder how did the shop manager plan its weekly stock up? Overall customer service is within expectations. No complaints.

Soup is big enough to share between 2 people. Mincemeat on the steamed egg was lacking taste so I would not reccommend topping up $2 for it, but the egg itself was yummy. Attentive staff and nice environment for a quiet weekday dinner

Alight at Jurong East green MRT line and take a 5 mins walk to JEM. Lao Huo Tang is located at level 3 which you will see when you travel up the escalator that's nearer to DonDonki. Most probably you had encountered this brand of franchises at coffee shops or even hawker centres, but this is so much different here at this restaurant whether on prices or quality. I was skeptical about their food but I am quite impressed after trying it for myself. Theue famous soup is definitely boiled much better with more ingredients and quality control. One serving of soup is more than enough for one person, I would say their one pot of soup can easily serve 2 pax. They do have other ala carte dishes which were akin to Zi Char menu and quality. Dishes on the menu are a hit or miss. Some where impressively good and there were others which are just meh. If you are a soup lover or a frequent customer of this franchise of soup, you have to pop by and try them. P.S. Do take note the prices are higher than what you will pay in coffee shops or hawkers.

The day when covid era starting to past. The jem was packed to the bringe. With waiting time as long as 2hrs. This is one of the place deserved your attention. Old school yet served with passion. Food taste good and soup is awesome. Will be back

After reading the reviews here, i was quite skeptical but decided to take a 50-50 risk and thankfully it wasnt that bad except for a wrong choice of soup. The buddha over the wall was super good and thick, and there were plenty of dried scallop and fish maw in it. The ginseng chicken soup was a miss for me though, as it was too herbally and "siap" due to the ginseng soaking for hours. Halfway through, we gave up drinking it. The tofu dish was really good that stole my entire bowl of rice! Although the ginseng soup was a miss, i will still give 5 stars as it was overall still a good meal. We came on a sat lunch hours and it wasnt very crowded. The staff were mostly elderly so i think we should give some patience and it goes a long way for them. Please be nice and if they miss out your order or are a little slow, just remind them on look for the younger staff. Oh! And we didnt feel thirsty after the meal (thank god not msg soup!)

Go to place for Chinese soup, ingredients are fresh and portion is substantial for the price. Pumpkin rice is nice too and goes well together with their soup. Staff are prompt and courteous.
