Its ok... doesn't have the punch to notice the difference between the SG Char Kuey Teow and Fried Hot Fan. They all coming to the same taste.

went for lunch on a saturday and the shop was almost empty, except for 1 other set of diners. ordered 1) assam laksa 2) balacan fried chicken wings 3) taohu goreng 4) fried CKT. 1) assam laksa was really weak on the assam, i love my assam laksa with a punch of tanginess but this one was definitely more mild. the soup also was a lot more diluted than some others i’ve tried. but if you don’t fancy strong assam taste, this would suit you. 2) taohu goreng was average. when it arrived hot, the skin of the tofu was crispy but i found the peanut sauce abit wet. however, taste wise, it was quite good. 3) CKT - average, the kway teow used were the fat local ones, i believe the real penang ones are abit skinnier. some other penang restaurants serve much better CKT. 4) fried chicken - this came out last piping hot. chicken was super juicy and i felt this was the standout of all the dishes. very succulent! overall, quite an average experience, and it is quite value for money (some places definitely charge more). was too full if not i’d get some dessert.

Disappointing! Their chef recommendation on Penang Curry Chicken with rice was way below par. It looked totally different from the menu. It’s not appetizing at all. The rice was cold and hard. I had to complain before they exchanged with Nasi Lemak rice.

The food I think so so only. The prawn mee soup not so authentic like Penang taste.

Ordered the sweet and sour fish, rojak and salted egg fried kway teow. Apart from the rojak the rest were superb. The rojak just lack the right taste to it. Something is just missing from and I can't seem to figure it out. ? Service was prompt and efficient. Special mention to YuJun who was attentive to small details and polite at all times despite the busy dinner crowed. Clean and well.maintained restaurant.

This is probably the closest penang fried KT one can get locally. This dish is superb and love the overall taste. However the clam taste a little sourish which I find it awful. Had the fried chicken but can skip as the chicken seems soggy to me

This particular branch of Penang Culture is located in Jem, and serves decent Penang dishes. The revamped menu gives me the impression that the number of dishes have been streamlined. The serving sizes are smaller, but their prices have not actually increased. The Rojak and Lor Bak (similar to Ngor Hiang) are great. The Hokkien Prawn Mee is tasty. The Char Kway Teow is ok, but lacks wok hei, and the flavour and texture can be improved. The Nasi Lemak is not bad too. The coffee is great, and worth a try. It's a nice place to relax after shopping in Jem, if you're not too fussy about food.

Went there on a weekday lunch and didn't have to wait. Had been to penang culture and their penang fried kway tiao, hokkien mee were pretty good. This time round, I ordered the bbq sting ray and white rice to go with it. I find the sting ray small (for the price of $11.90) and ended up spending alot of time trying to scrape the meat off to eat. Taste was ok, it wasn't really much bbq though and it has alot of fibre (I think coconut shavings) in the sauce. Tip - you can ask them for free ice water.
