★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went here for a belated Valentines Day high tea meal on 15 Feb 2022 and it so happened it was the last day of their CNY high tea menu. Having tried other high tea selections, me and my partner were not impressed with both the savoury and sweet items. They served 5 courses and was filling. Starting with our favourite course, we liked pomegranate sorbet in champagne. The champagne was good. Now for the other courses. The savoury ones lacked the oomf factor as they were either lacking in texture or taste. We could barely taste the truffle in the truffle egg crossiant with chicken floss. The sweet items were too cloyingly sweet for my wife and left her with an uncomfortable, sore feeling in her throat. Moving on to the tea pairings, while they were very smooth and easy to drink, we felt the flavours not prominent enough for the Earl Grey and Osmanthus tea. Their Tie Guan Yin tea was the best of the three. However, the smell was the tea was fragrant. All in all, the food was not bad but definitely wasn't up to our expectations considering the price point of 80sgd (after service charge and gst) each for me and my wife. We definitely won't recommend this seasonal set. I am not sure about the usual high tea sets but we have our reservations after this experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tried their signature 5 course high tea set at the lounge bar. TBH, quite disappointed with the food. It’s definitely meant for instaglamers than foodie. Here’re my reasons:
1. Presentation - 5 stars. Every dish is presented well and in style - picture perfect in fact.
2. Taste - 2 stars. Frankly, when it comes to the main course, we only liked the curry quiche. Well, u can say we have Asian’s taste buds but seriously, apart from the quiche, nothing managed to please our taste buds up to the 3rd course. 4th course was the pudding, which tasted like overly sweet Xmas cake. We didn’t even finish half of it. Mind u there were 3 of us and just one pudding for sharing. As for the last course, which were a selection of sweets, the raspberry puff was surprisingly refreshing. Not too sweet and quite easy in the mouth despite filled with cream. Just as we thought we are gonna hv a happy ending ~ their sweet deserts were better than their savoury treats, the rest of their sweets proved us wrong again. There was really no words to describe them apart from being sweet.
3. Ambience - 4 stars. Quite cozy and nice setting.
All in all, if u r just looking to impress ur followers on social media with good looking dishes, this is the place for you. Otherwise, there are better options.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The Lobby Lounge is perfect for you if you are the sort that enjoy an intimate cozy afternoon tea affair. The menu selection is limited but the food was fabulous and I must say both the capitol burger and fries as well as the black truffle pasta was done superbly well. Prices are also very affordable for a hotel setting. Will I be back? Most certainly!
