★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fried Kway Teow and Fried Carrot Cake was excellent. However, the grumpy old man selling Chendol really brought down the excellent service provided by the rest of the stalls. First, the sign board states very clearly that customers need to pay an extra 20 cents for takeaway. That's perfectly alright except that he collected 30 cents and refused to provide a receipt! And the container was HALF EMPTY - See picture attached!
And there are not enough workers to clean up. Although ALL customers were returning their trays to the tray return station, many of the tables were left dirty with gravy and soup stains, tissue papers, etc. Partly the fault of the customers but isn't it the food court's responsibility to wipe the tables?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Looks nice but tasted really bad. The Penang Kway Teow was really salty, oily, bitter and somehow very smelly. The kway teow was also cold and the prawn was over cooked. It was not appetising at all.
The oyster omelette was even worse, there were only three small oysters, and the oysters were still cold, not cooked and very fishy. The omelette was also ‘rubbery’ as there was too much starch, it was really not edible.
This is not authentic Penang food. Pls send your cooks to Penang to learn proper Ways of cooking Penang foods. pls avoid the store. Giving one star out of sympathy.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very good experience for the visit, kway teow is cold and lumpy. Ba kut teh, you char kway dark like the straw and tray even soak into the soup also hard. Soup taste normal, don't really taste like ba kut teh soup.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ First of all, misterpretation of food menu pictures.
It showed bowls of ingredients (without sight of Kwayteow) but another small bowl of dry seemed to look like wanton noodle item, back of the soup with full of ingredients.
It labelled: Kway Teow Soup with option dry or soup.
The boy wasn't happy when clarified.
As a chilli lover, I asked for chilli as the tub was empty. He answered "Yes I know it's empty"
So I ordered option 1 dry as I wanted dry Kwayteow (i thought).
It came in this.
Food is ok aside from tasting overly salty, and was surprised it has some chilli on it? My poor toddler boy couldn't eat them.
Extremely poor attitude of the young boy at Ah Piao Kway Teow Soup stall can be improved. He seem already offended even before he was offended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Another Malaysia food foodcourt by Fei Siong group. The food is similar to other Malaysia Boleh, not cheap and the portion is small. The claypot Mee tai Mak taste is not bad though. But a bit oily.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ As Malaysians living in Tampines area for the past 30 years, my wife and I were excited when Malaysia Chiak outlet was finally opened recently. We have since patronised its stalls almost every week. The food quality was decent though we could not reasonably expect it to be the same as those in Malaysia.
Unfortunately, everything has noticeably gone down hill within just a few weeks of its opening and we have since encountered a number of disappointing incidents. Here are a couple of recent examples:
Case #1:
Last week during normal dinner hours, we ordered kway teow soup which comes with a bowl of dry noodles instead of kway teow (strangely) based on the menu displayed, and specifically asked for the noodles to be replaced with kway teow. The male staff at the stall accepted the order without any qualms, but when the dish was cooked and presented to us, the noodles remained as “noodles”. Okay, probably a small slip up and no big deal, so we thought. The same staff then told us matter-of-factly that he had run out of pig liver for the soup and replaced it with some fish cake slices and fish balls which were not particularly to our liking. Alas, if he had told us so when we were placing the order we would have changed our mind and ordered something else. It was unbelievable that the outlet’s operation SOP allowed the staff to deviate from their standard recipes. As if that was not bad enough, when we asked the same staff to replenish the cut-chilli as the container was already emptied, he nonchalantly pointed and told us to get it from the other stalls ourselves as he had run out of it too! We did not expect much service standards but his tone of voice and entire working attitude left us bewildered. The food we paid for turned out tasting totally different from what we had had previously from this same stall. We were left disappointed but decided not to fuss about it.
Case #2:
This evening, we ordered Penang Assam Laksa. It came out looking totally different from what we had had previously from the same stall. The portion became smaller and the soup was covered with a thick layer of reddish oil. It was definitely nothing like the Penang Assam Laksa that we were so familiar with. We gave it the benefit of doubt and tried to eat it, but we simply choked on the oil. Unable to continue, my wife approached the stall to give our feedback to the staff. Before my wife could finish explaining the issue, the staff looked irritated, rudely cut her off and told her in a demanding manner to bring the food back to the stall. We did so accordingly expecting to get it exchanged with a new bowl of noodles. To our amusement, she pointed to the pot of soup on her counter and told us that it was given to her like that (meaning she was not responsible), and simply poured another scoop of soup into our bowl of noodles and handed it straight back to us. We were astonished but, not wanting to pass any immediate judgement, we brought the bowl of noodles back to our table to give it another try and it turned out to be still as awfully oily as before. We headed back to that female staff again and politely told her we could not eat it and asked if she could replace the entire bowl of noodles. She brushed us off and claimed she could not do so for us. We did not want to escalate the situation and sent the entire bowl of noodles to the tray return counter.
The above are definitely not representative of food quality and working attitude of Malaysians we know.
It is clear that Malaysia Chiak management needs to look into two key aspects of its operation to remain relevant in the stiff competition of F&B business:
1. QC measures to ensure consistency of its food quality delivered to customers;
2. Customer service quality training of front line employees
We wish to continue supporting Malaysia Chiak’s endeavour to bring true Malaysian flavour to food lovers in Singapore, only if we will not continue to be disappointed by its careless attitude towards these shortcomings, which can be addressed if the management has the will to succeed.

All the food reasonably priced and the staffs are friendly.
Ordered 1 chicken claypot rice , 1 large char kway teow and 1 small oyster omelette.
Super delicious , kinda bring me back to Malaysia. My favourite was oyster omelette,lots of egg.
Overall a great experience here , will definitely visit again!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a place where malaysian food’s reputation is brought down to the lowest.
My third time here before i write this review, first visit was so-so although my hopes were then high and excited that there’s finally a place here in the east where we can have some authentic Malaysian food. Second visit, was also awkwardly unsatisfactory. So, this third visit, I manage to take some pictures of the food I ordered to try.
Carrot cake, it was disappointing by its portion size and even the cold food that came after a very long wait.
The claypot chicken rice and claypot mee tai mak came also after a very long wait, yet without any steam, which means it had been left there unserved for quite some time until it is cooled down. On the food itself, we can only say it’s 90% carb and 10% protein, because we can hardly find the chicken meat or the chinese sausage. Same for the mee tai mak. For that price, I am not expecting this standard or quality. I hope the management sees these reviews and make the necessary improvements. Good luck.
