Friendly service, air conditioned eatery. And love how classy of them to offer free egg for each porridge bowl. Creamy, gooey texture with generous ingredients. Please try their homemade pork balls, glad that they are mot using factory made balls.

The charcoal flavor was nowhere to be found sadly. Having had charcoal porridge before I thought I had found a gem. Instead, it tasted like regular grainy rice porridge that tasted the way grandma used to make, except their pork balls ($1.50 for 3) were tastier. Free egg too! The you tiao was crisp and they serve other dishes like raw fish too. Altogether a nice light afternoon meal

Very tasty porridge! Took photo only after finished half the bowl. I ordered the Li Wan Boat Porridge and the ingredients are a lot for this price. Love the assortment of ingredients and the porridge is thick enough and comes with a free egg (unlike Ah Chiang's porridge which is tasteless). You do have to stir the porridge as I realize some parts are more salty. Stall owner can consider stirring it more before serving. Oh and I love it that it's air-conditioned unlike many others that hot to eat in. Singapore is just too hot!

Good porridge place (though a bit watery for my liking & server can hold off on the soy sauce too) and of course you pay more for the ambience and air conditioned comfort. Also need to order the yutiao separately but a must have as they are freshly fried. The liver & scallion dish was nicely cooked too.

The porridge was delicious, would recommend ordering the century egg porridge ($5.50) or 3 type egg porridge ($5.50). For side dish, steam pork with salted fish ($6.80). Waiter and waitress were very polite. They can converse in English, Chinese and Cantonese. Note that the there is another eatery called “Xin Ji Porridge” with the exact same address. I suspect that it was the previous restaurant that was previously ran there.

The pork porridge taste good here. Well season and chunky thick porridge. The ginger chicken I think it’s the star here. Taste of the ginger is more pronounced with the scallion

Not too sure if there is any noticeable difference between charcoal porridge and normal porridge, but this spot's got pretty awesome porridge and side dishes! The chicken porridge tasted especially bland(healthy dish perhaps?) but can be easily adjusted with soy sauce. Century egg porridge was also mildly bland though still pretty great on its own without additional seasoning. The youtiao(chinese fried dough) has a truly unique texture - crispy exterior, chewy interior. I loved it a lot! The fermented red beancurd fried chicken was also a pleasant surprise - flavourful and tender! Location is comfortable to dine at, and has air conditioning. Would recommend to try the side dishes along with the porridge.

Food was decent - satisfied my cravings but overall felt the ginger chicken could’ve been more fragrant, the porridge didn’t have a charcoal taste either. Don’t get me wrong the porridge is good, it just doesn’t have a charcoal taste to it. Overall still a good meal though.
