Overscoop (Orchard Central)

Not sure if the staff was really in a bad mood..felt like she was quite annoyed from her tone while serving us. Yes, we may have took some time to decide on the ice cream flavours but there were so many flavours to choose from and there was no one behind us in the queue. And we didn't understand the concept of your "overscoop" as this was our first visit and the staff kept repeating the same thing "our shop is called overscoop, that's why we have this overscoop" in an annoyed tone. Did that explained anything? In the end we just told her, we don't want it cos we don't get what she meant. The staff could have explain nicely and clearly that all orders will come with a tiny scoop (that is called overscoop, which is the shop concept) of any flavour, FOC. After seeing other customers' orders with that extra scoop on top, then only we understood. The 2 stars here are for the ice cream and waffle. Had the honeycomb and rum & raisin flavours and both were good. Pandan waffle was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside but probably tone down on the green coloring. Coffee and tea was average. Just felt that our first visit and experience was ruined from an impatient service. Learn to communicate cos not everyone that walked thru the door knows your shop concept. In my mind, I was just there to enjoy ice cream and if you want to educate us on your concept, please do it nicely and clearly.

Not a very good experience. The staff was trying to sell us the available package which was supposed to be of more value but as she found out we had no intention to order the set, her attitude became different and she lost the smile. We ended up ordering a scoop for the kids just so we don’t disappoint them. The adults didn’t try the ice cream so can’t comment on the food/taste.

The staffs were very friendly and patience with our order as they went all out to advice us on what were the other voucher alternatives to use even though we gave up after realizing Burpple was down. But most importantly the crispy waffles and ice cream were chef kiss*, best waffle ice cream in town literally.

Pandan coconut waffle was nice and fluffy, croffle was very crispy and buttery. Nice selection of ice cream too!

Had the belgian chocolate which was great! Strawberry ice cream taster which was good. White coffee was just ok but not an issue considering this is an ice-cream place. Power sockets were available and staff were friendly.

Ambience: 4/5 Service: 5/5 Food: 1/5 Lovely comfortable ambience with great service, classy golden utensils, and excellent food presentation. Overscoop is a fairly decent place to round up the night with friends, if you're looking for a casual place with chill-classy vibes and you're not particular on food quality. My only gripe is with the food, which brings the whole score down. The waffle was crispy but burnt and lacking in flavour, which was disappointing. Gelato was more akin to ice cream and tended to lean on the sweet side. While the flavours was strong, they unfortunately felt one-dimensional. Together, I found myself having a tough time enjoying and even finishing the dessert. It's a pity I cannot in good faith give this anything more than 2 stars as much as the non-food aspects are great.

Spacious and nice environment. Got the pandan coconut waffle with chrysanthemum wolfberry icecream & Thai milk tea icecream, along with a pot of Melon Oolong Tea. Waffles Icecream Tea were all really good. On top of that, service staff is really friendly and patient. Would visit again.

It was a quiet weekday night. We popped by this much-talked about ice cream cafe to try out their Croffle. Ordered a craft beer ice cream and it has a deep-rich beer ? taste to it which was refreshing even though the texture was soft and icy. Felt more like a weak and melted soft serve. The Croffle on the other hand was a tad too well done. You can see from the photo that some parts already showed signs of overcooked. And yes, it tasted bitter. When they were preparing, there wasn’t a hint of aroma from the croissant. The pastry was hard and not chewy and it was dry. The strawberry flavoured ice cream tasted diluted. Something was missing: the texture was limp, light and lacking. But the shop had a lot of retail Items to look at.
