β β β β β One the of the best tasting Nasi lemak in town but prices are still steep as ever. Till closing time you can only max 2 chic wing to avoid order Wings and don't want to order rice?

β β β β β I thought nothing could beat craveβs nasi lemak but I was wrong!! This is a literal plate of nostalgia that hits u full force with the first whiff (even before the first bite) ; their rice is steeped in the strongest and thickest aroma of coconut milk that Iβve ever experienced and it just elevates everything else. Absolutely loved the mountain of sambal chili - texture, consistency and taste was exactly as envisioned in my mindβs eye. Chicken wing was vvv popular which is probably why we got a crisp fresh piece that was juicy and just right on the inside. Loved the fried egg with its runny yolk as well.
Just a little pricey and also how come the ikan bilis arenβt a given????
Noted that most of the poor reviews relate to the rude service but my boyfriend ordered for me so I cannot comment.

β β β β β Price is reasonable, fried chicken is very dry and not hot. Obviously the chicken is not fresh, fresh chicken meat don't taste very dry and tasteless. The rice taste good but not suppose to be oily, Boon Lay power nasi lemak definitely better than this Chinese style nasi lemak. This nasi lemak is totally unacceptable and failed.

β β β β β Was craving for nasi lemak, so I came here. Otherwise, I donβt bother. Long queue and took 30mins before my turn, and thatβs before 6pm.
Chaotic during order, expensive.
Otah, chili, egg and ikan billis are good. Warm rice, quite fragrant but nothing that impressive.
Nice neighborhood to walk around, many other good eats around this area.

β β β β β Was craving the Hokkien mee at this foodcourt but it wasnβt opened. Too lazy to think of what else to eat, so just joined the long long queue for nasi lemak.
I always love curry chap chye, and though itβs a strange (and sinful) combination with nasi lemak, had to have it. But an afternote on this is that curry chap chye goes better with beehoon ?
Together with the must-order chicken wing and the otah, this pack was $5.80. Not exactly economical nasi lemak but it is a huge and filling meal.

β β β β β Queue is long and kinda slow. The coffee shop is very crowded cos you have to compete with qi xiang chicken pot customers too haha. Rice is very santan-ish, like straight up coconut milk flavor. I hope the flavor is more complex. The runny egg yolk complements the rice a lot, it kinda tones down the santan flavor and adds richness so it is a must-have topping. The chicken skin is among the best i've ever had, i prefer drumstick cos got more meat hahaha. Okra is really good and fragrant. Otah has very balanced flavor and kinda mild, which i like! The sambal chili is very mildly spicy (i have super low spicy tolerance). Ponggol nasi lemak definitely deserves the hype cos it's simply the best nasi lemak in sg.

β β β β β The queue are ridiculous during peak hour, go late evening better. This is Singapore Chinese Style Nasi Lemak, so Malaysian shouldn't compare it to theirs. The sambal is the dry type which some may not be used to. The Chicken Wings are to die for ! Ok if you don't mind the queue.

β β β β β Both founders used to deliver Nasi Lemak in banana leaves to various Hawker Centres, Markets, and Coffee Shops. Many decades later, Punggol Nasi Lemak has its own specialty stores around our island - including the latest one in Capitol Singapore, Upper Serangoon Road (where I frequent), Tanjong Katong and Jalan Besar.
The Upper Serangoon outlet opens from 430pm and closes around 3 - 4am. Queues will start to form as early as 4pm and peak around 6 - 8pm. The peak hour queue can really get extremely long with waiting time close to about an hour on some occasions. Seating capacity is also pretty limited. So do come early if you are thinking of having this for dinner. Supper peak hours vary usually but still reasonable waiting time on overall.
Their fried chicken drumstick/wing is a must-order - it is almost on everyone's plate there. Soft and tender on the inside yet crispy and flavourful on the outside. The curry vegetables, dried shrimp & chili paste long beans, achar, ikan bilis are also my favorites. The coconut rice is fragrant with a scent of fresh pandan. Prices are not cheap for sure. They are known for their high prices too but once in a while its fine, especially when I am craving for Nasi Lemak at late hours! Pricing per dish is also very transparent as they have the entire menu and price list on the counter. Overall good nasi lemak but there are still better ones locally considering price, quality.
This outlet is just a 5minutes walk from the Kovan MRT station Exit B. Very easy to locate as there are high signboards outside the coffee shop. They have very nice alternatives as well within - Mee Pok, Hokkein Mee, Chee Cheong Fun. All famous and delicious.
