★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mee kia is done right. Very springy with good amount of chilli and vinegar. Fish ball and fried fish cake are good. Affordable at only $3. Always a queue but it moves quite quickly. Satisfying breakfast.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Old school noodles. Love the vinger concoction with the Meepok. The fish cake is very nicely done and is the star. Even at 0710 hrs there was already a queue although it does move. Note that they accept Shopee Pay. Otherwise cash :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Umami broth, al dente mee kia noodles, the best meatballs I have had in SG. Fishballs and fish cakes are bouncy but the flavour is very light for those. Ultimately, a real solid bowl of noodles with more ingredients than noodles at $5. Each order is cooked individually before the next order is taken. Really a gem of a place.
It is comforting and homely, but not mindblowing so it’s a 4 stars from me! It is worth coming down to old airport road for this!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely my favourite handmade fishball by far (and I generally prefer commercial types)! Not too soft, bouncy and taste so good. The noodles wise, I am not a fan as there’s too much vinegar. The noodles dried out before I finished too. The soup is pretty good and satisfying.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Have you eaten here? If you have not you have (emphasise you really have) to give it a try. It is one of my top 10 go-to hawker stall. There is a branch at Holland Drive Food Centre (a bit of history - when I was young the place is known as 红屋(red house) as the building there has red bricks as the facade. Fried carrot cake then in the late seventies/early eighties was only 50c a packet). Back to the stall at old airport road. For the easterner, you don’t have to travel far to have that delicious fish ball noodle. They are famous for that soft and chewy fresh fishballs. My favourite is as pictured - al dente 幼面 (thin noodle) and fried fishcake. If you like fishcake, this has to be it. Perfect with steamboat for Chinese New Year. Not exactly very clear of how Ru Ji is related to Thye Hong Fishball Noodle at Ghim Moh which I had since I was young in the 70s. If you know, let me know, k? ?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Same same but different. If you have tried the Ru Ji at Holland Market, you would find that the noodles here is little 'wetter'.
Still, an awesome bowl of fishball noodles! The chilli and vinegar when mixed with the noodles, just perfect combination.
Fishball is slightly softer than the usual that you get from other stalls. And it's tasty and has better texture as well.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The star of the dish is definitely the fishballs. Handmade, bouncy, fresh, and flavourful. The fish cakes were also very enjoyable - I was especially lucky to get the ends which came with extra chewiness from the fried skin! I found the noodles and sambal quite average - prefer Lixin Teochew Fishball Noodles for the noodle itself. However the fishballs here are better. Note pictured here is the $5 version with extra chilli.
Be prepared to queue at least 30mins if you are going between 11-1pm.
