β β β β β My gynae for my 2 pregnancies. Nurses are all very friendly and helpful.
Dr Loke has an unfriendly face. But when he smiles, it warms up his face. He may look cold but he is very knowledgeable. Does not make you panic at unnecessary things. He is the quiet type but when you have questions, he explains patiently.
Prices are reasonable. Waiting time at clinic can take a while. Usually just register and go for a meal and itβs your turn is 10mins.
There was once I had to wait for more than an hour because he had to deliver a baby. Totally understandable.
Overall, he definitely made both my pregnancies an enjoyable one. Caesarean stitches ??

β β β β β Writing coz I have nothing to do while I wait lol.
Kudos to the overworked staff who have to deal with the never ending steam of patients. They are patiently apologetic to all those tired of waiting too long, and discreet as they can be on the standard sensitive Qns regarding your medical history that they will ask at the recep counter
Went on a Sat, which tends to be very crowded coz they're only open half day and closed on Sun.
Less crowded on weekdays according to the nurse/recep.
They unfortunately don't manage to mention this to everyone who calls to make an appointment as they are harried enough as it is.
Note that you have to wait standing outside for an hour or more while you wait for them to call for your turn coz there are limited seats in the clinic which are now even further reduced by the 1m social distancing rule.
So far a 2hr wait & counting from the time of my appointment.... note to self :don't book appointment on Sat!
Ended up there a total of 2hr 40min - doc is the old school sort you'd miss when they retire. Answers your queries calmly and patiently, doesn't do unnecessary extra procedures, explains what he is doing & why throughout the consult.
Payment is cash & nets only. Recep / nurse will advise you how much $ to set aside for your procedure if you ask while making the appointment

β β β β β Short story : Not recommended.
Long story: One lady in staff very good (curly hair) others are some cold face ladies. I didnt like that couple of times when I ask something they talk to each other in thier native language and laugh thats feels like mocking patients. I would only recommend this clinci if that would be zero consultation fee and hence if free of charge service then why not visit but since you pay consultation fee and other fee you expect some service more than a ultrasound scan.
Dr talks very less, as soon as you enter inside while its your turn within next 40-60 seconds you are in the bed for scanning and Dr will only tell you βall is wellβ, and baby growth is good nothing more than that. So frankly its like visiting for ultrasound scan than seeing a gyec.
Dr does seems to be knowledgful but if he canβt demonstrate that to patient, whats the need of such knowledge.
Changed my Gynec to NUH and then felt the difference that what I was missing all this while.
Being Hindu and vegeterian asked for vegan alternative of medicines , at first they again laughed which irritated me and replied they dont have alternative. They provided us medicines containing cow gelatin which is a sin in our religion and they showed no sign of remorse. They should ask patients about medicines ingrediants when I adviced as such for future they replied they dont know the ingrediants of medicine. This is where the shortcomings of this clinic, Dr talks nothing and ladies in the reception know nothing. All the tests they recommend to be taken but dont explain why need to be taken. So its good for those who blindly follow instruction like robot, since I like to understand , decide and choose whats best for us, it wasnt the place for us.
Regret to have visited this clinic.

β β β β β I was initially hesitant to visit this clinic because of the relatively average review it has gotten so far, with some patients complaining about the reception staff and others targeted at Dr Loke.
I was already seeing another gynae at Tampines Central and that Dr and clinic has lots of great reviews, but I made an appointment with Dr Loke anyway because (1) it was near my place, (2) because i felt the gynae i was seeing was too busy so he appears tired and listless, (3) i needed a second opinion on some additional health findings on top of pregnancy, and (4) Dr Loke delivers at MAH which is the hospital of my choice (he also delivers at PEH based on what i've read).
Now to the main point, I thought the clinic staff were all very polite, and Dr Loke was great as well. He was very assuring, calm and composed. I still had prenatal vitamins from my other gynae so he did not push to prescribe more during my visit.
For first consultation and scanning, the charges came to $160, which is on par to what i paid for my first visit to the other gynae at Tampines Central.
Overall, my husband and I felt Dr Loke was a gynae we preferred and we had a pleasant experience with him :)

β β β β β I'll only recommend this place only for their location. Anything else, I am sure there are other places.
Like many have mentioned, Dr. Loke is a man of little words. There is no doubt he is a knowledgeable but having little information coming from him is the last thing you'd want. Sure, Dr. Loke will answer any queries but anyone will feel more assured if he tries to explain more, especially when most patients will not know what to ask.
Sadly, the deciding factor for a measly 1 star is due to the absurd waiting time. An appointment for operation at 0930 only took place at 1150, which is after all the walk-in/appointment patients are seen by him.
Be prepared to wait for a long time with a dry mouth and empty stomach until you are finally ushered to the 2nd level for your operation. Good gracious.
PS: No, medisave is not accepted here.

β β β β β My experience was back in 2016. Paid the 'package' costing $800 for checkups till third trimester, when i reached second trimester. First checkup right after signing the package, doctor found fetus had heart problem and amniotic fluid levels low. Nurse took over and told me to "go KKH for abortion at 20++ weeks". Refused to give me back a refund even though they were the one who literally told me "bye-bye" and were the one who couldn't handle my pregnancy when it turned complicated. If it was own will to change doctor or for similar reasons, I would understand why that amount would be forfeited. The old counter lady/nurse just retorted "sorry, we don't do refunds one, maybe you can come back in future and do pap smear or something". Like as if I would ever return! In the midst of trying to control the pain of my pregnancy spiralling downwards, and keeping my tears till I reach home, I couldnt argue much..but for sure, i Will NEVER forget how coldly they treated me that day. No empathy AT ALL!.

β β β β β Dr Loke does not talk a lot but he does what needs to be done. He is very fast and he can finish the consult in 5-10 min if everything is well. However if things are not well he also spends time to explain.
He is very experienced and skilful at his job
He is also very caring.
He does not push you for unnecessarily tests and supplements for you. More importantly he also does not push you for c-section if the delivery can be done normally.
He is very fast to respond when it is emergency esp during the time of delivery. If surgery is required, he is very meticulous surgeon.
When my wife gets pregnant again, We will go to him again.

β β β β β I have heard reviews that Dr Loke is a man of little words. However based on my own experience, he was very assuring and does not unnecessarily scare you. He does does not push you for unnecessary tests and medications. His fees are definitely one of the more reasonable ones in comparison to others. I had a smooth pregnancy and Dr Loke is very experienced. He knew of my pain threshold and safely delivered my baby by way of natural birth (with forceps). He was very skillful in forceps delivery and my baby had no marks at all. His stitches recovered well with no pain whatsoever and I have since continued to visit him for regular pap smears.
