Disappointed with the asam fish. The fish is fresh however the sauce is towards the sweet and not spicy. My favourite goes to the chap chay, Ayam and Otah. Authentic. Overall I would not mind going back again.

Lovely places with nice interior and music. Clean and tidy place. The in-charge was very friendly and polite despite my repeated changes of timing. Their foods definitely authentic and serving hot. The staffs very welcoming and served efficient. Good environment if you planning to do cosy events for family together. Thumbs up to this company.

This restaurant serves authentic Peranakan cuisine. If you love Peranakan food or is curious about it, this restaurant would be a good place to eat at. Most of the dishes I tried were interesting and flavorful. Highly recommend Babi Pongtay, Hainanese Pork Chop, Rendang Ayam, Curry Fish Head, and Otah, Ngoh Hiang. For desserts, definitely the Durian Pengat if you like durian, if not, go for the Chendol. Price is quite steep but indulge in this rich meal once in a while is worth it. Recommended.

Ordered chap chye, sambal sotong, ayam buah keluak, hee peow soup and ban wan kepiting soup. Taste and flavor of the chap chye and ban wan kepiting soup were amazingly good and balanced. However, I was disapppointed with the sambal sotong as it was overcooked that it had a rubbery texture. The fish maw in the hee peow soup was not cooked long enough to soften it. Given the price point, quantity & quality of food, I would explore other peranakan restaurants.

We went for a friend's wedding reception at this establishment. The set up of the place was pretty decent. With the layout being an L shaped area enabling tables from different angles still being able to see the Centre stage. Food wise it was pretty mediocre towards the mild tasting type. The main highlight and dish highly recommended is the babi pongteh which was rich in flavor and properly braised. I prefer rich and strong flavors more towards the Malaysian Peranakan style so only the babi pongteh dish sat well with me. Service wise, the staff were OK but I would say they require more training. Empty plates / dishes which we finished were left on the table and not kept, and we had to remind the staff to refill our drinks. Although they do seem to have initiative, I personally think that they could do with much more training. If they could improve the food taste and service, I would give 4 stars instead of 3.

This restaurant located at Esplanade has a nice peranakan style decoration. It is spacious and comfortable. Most importantly, they have a wide range of traditional peranakan food to choose from, including ayam buah keluak (chicken), itek sio (braised duck), babi pongteh (braised pork), asam fish, chap chye (mixed vegetables), etc. Appetisers and desserts including nyonya platter, mini crab soup, nyonya kueh, chendol, etc are all mouth-watering. Price is very reasonable for such quality of food and dining environment. Strongly recommended.

My wife and I are so glad to have chosen Straits Chinese Nonya Restaurant as the venue for our ROM. The ambience and set up of the restaurant was near perfect in a sense that it was able to bring out the mood we have always imagined, which is a mixture of modern and traditional. Here are some of the points that we find it commendable in the restaurant:- Management: Kevin, whom we believe is the Restaurant Manager has been very helpful since the beginning. He has been very responsive whenever we have queries and patiently explain to us the latest SOP and the changes during the Covid-19 heightened alert period. We are so relieve that the government had decided to allow everything to go back to normal just right before our ROM. Another praiseworthy thing about Kevin is that he was able to coordinate well with our needs and requirements. For instance, I was able to successfully threw a surprise for my wife with a secret video thanks to him and my 2 brother in law. Food: One of the most laudable point about the restaurant is definitely the food. Our guests had positive feedbacks about the food that were being served and we didn't even have to ask them about it. You know the food is good when your guest comes to tell you personally that it's delicious =P. All in all, we are very content with the overall experience we had in the restaurant and would definitely recommend it to our family, friends and our social circle. Keep it Up!

i had the nyonya buffet here and the food exceeded expectations in its entirety. every dish was served hot and delicious; so hard to find good authentic nonya cuisine but this place is so consistent with that in every dish! buffet allowed us to order and try a large variety - we stuffed ourselves full and it was super worth it. its a pity cause i think their buffet promo is already over, but feel free to head over to try their ala carte dishes!!
