Strass Lighting - 501 Balestier Rd

It is extremely unfortunate that without much due diligence I ended up purchasing all the LED lights, spot lights as well as living room dining hanging light with Strass Lighting recently. The store manager Julian Jauw pretended to be knowledgable and friendly during the first time when we went for lighting selection. It was total disaster which I have never personally experienced in my life that followed the purchase. To name a few examples, one of the LED drivers that was provided was damaged twice even before the lights were put into use. Moreover, Julian threatened I had to pay SGD 891 more than the amount agreed during quotation before delivering the dining light. Worst of all, the dining light that in fact was delivered turned out to be a much cheaper version from what I ordered from showroom. It was different design with much cheaper material and no crystal at all above the lighting frame. I will be escalating the matter to Consumers Authority of Singapore and issue court claim against such deceptive and unethical behavior, but I would like to write this feedback to urge potential light shoppers to not even consider doing businesses with them and prevent my disastrous experience from happening to others.

I have been purchasing lights from Strass Lighting 6 years back for my 1st house and they have never failed my expectations in pricing and quality. They are very direct and upfront and they solve my issues with their professional recommendations plus they don't do hard selling. 6yrs later, I am back choosing lights for my new house and their professional service and quotations have not failed me. To me, they are the guys to find if you want to find lighting. Julian and Soe Zaw - great guys with professional services.

Very bad attitude. Bought a light at spoilt only after 1 month. Brought it back and they said no receipt they don't want to do anything about it and not their problem. Don't recommend to buy from here at all.

I bought a bunch of lighting for my newly renovated house, one of which was supplied wrongly by the shop. When I informed Julian, he said that he does not know if it is the fault of the shop or my fault that the light I received was not X but Y. This was after Julian and his sales staff accepted that based on the tax invoice, I had purchased X and not Y. Julian's response was ridiculous, when it can only be the fault of the shop that the wrong light was provided to the customer. To even make such a comment is telling as to Julian's attitude when it comes to after sales service. Thereafter, I had to bring the wrong light back to the shop at my own cost for exchange, and engage another electrician at my own cost to fix up the correct light. The whole experience was disappointing, especially since I had spent more than $580 at this shop. In any event, I recommend that if anyone still wishes to purchase from this store, to check all appliances before you make payment and leave the venue. The service after you have made payment is regrettably atrocious.

When we installed the lights.. two holders were spoiled. When told them about it, they said we chk items before sending. Must bring the light back, no on site warranty. Stuck with a faulty light. Wish had read the reviews. Refuse to change or replace or send a person. Bad management . Poor customer care and don't stand by the quality

The pendent lights above my island kitchen were blinking, they needed replacement and an updated look. Julian was helpful with ideas and practical solutions and was very accommodating despite a busy week nearing Hari Raya weekend. He exceeded my expectations and delivered a day earlier. The guy who installed the lights was fast, efficient and even obliged to do extra for other a toilet and bedroom lights (not in the initial job requested) which needed fixing. He didn't grumble even though it was the end of the day. Lights with infinity effect look fabulous in my kitchen. Thank you Strass Lighting!

Went to purchase lights and when we wanted to check on our items, an old man working there refused to let us check and says that there’s warranty.. if there’s any problem can bring back etc. who does that lol?? A month later when our electricians installed one of the lamps, we found many scratches on it, seems to be defective item. Doubt we can change because it’s dusty and the tncs on the receipt say can’t change unless it’s mechanical prob. Recommend not to purchase from this shop

I wish I had read previous comments before stepping into this shop. Had to go back twice to fix the lights I newly bought from this shop. Most ridiculous thing is that the manager questions why I bought that light in the first place. Imagine selling a product to a customer and when it does not work, blame the customer for buying it. Had worst customer experience dealing with the management of this shop...behavior is consistent with some past reviews posted here.
